Inland Waterways Authority of India, invites applications from officers retired from the post /rank of Executive Engineers / Deputy Directors (Engineering) or equivalent, from the Central Government / Armed Forces / Autonomous Bodies / Ports or from persons employed with private Companies, for appointment as Consultant (Mechanical / Marine) to be filled up on contract basis initially for a period of three years, which may be extended for another two years based on the performance

1. Name of the post : Sr. Consultant (Mechanical/Marine)
No. of post : 02 nos. for Head Office, NOIDA.
Consolidated monthly remuneration : will be fixed as per the existing guidelines, not exceeding Rs. 65,000/-

2. Name of the post : Consultant (Mechanical/Marine)
No. of post : 03 posts, 01 each for Regional Offices Kolkata / Patna / Guwahati
Consolidated monthly remuneration : as per guidelines, not exceeding Rs. 50,000/- existing per month.

Qualification:- The Consultants for posting in regional offices should be either a Diploma or Graduate from any of the engineering disciplines of Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering & Naval Architecture from recognized Universities / Institutions. The Sr. Consultants for posting at H.O. should be a Graduate from any recognized Universities / Institutions in one of the above mentioned Engineering disciplines. No other Engineering discipline will be considered.

Experience:
a) The Consultant for Field Officers with Diploma shall have minimum of 15 years working experiences or with a Degree with minimum 10 years of working experience.
b) Sr. Consultants for HO shall have minimum working experience of 15 years as follows;
c) The Field of experience for both categories of officers shall be as follows;
i) Experience on basic & detailed design, preparation of engineering drawings for construction of Inland / Sea going Vessels, supervision &monitoring the construction, attending to test, trial & delivery and/or contract management for the procurement of new vessels. OR
ii) Should have work experience in the shipyards involved for construction, repair & maintenance of Inland / Sea going vessels. OR
iii) Should have sailing experience of minimum 10 years onboard the coastal / foreign flags vessels having GRT above 3000 tons or onboard the vessels of Indian Navy / Coast Guard / any other defense / paramilitary vessels of equivalent size / types. OR
iv) Worked as a surveyor in any classification society or statutory bodies like MMD / DG Shipping / State IWT Dte. / Maritime Board/IRS/any classification society

Age: The minimum age for engagement shall be 40 years and maximum will be 62 years.
