Azim Premji Foundation invites application for its Fellowship Program (2014 -16)
The Fellowship is an opportunity for you to explore various dimensions of education, and to discover if this is your calling. It is a 2-year full-time program, where you will get to understand and experience the realities of rural Government schools.
This rigorous 2 year program comprises of:
5 weeks classroom module to strengthen conceptual understanding of education and development issues
22 months of intense field engagement at the grass roots level in the District Institutes of the Foundation.
Working on a live project that has significant purpose of improving quality at practice level.
You should have 2 to 6 years of work experience, with a post-graduate or a professional degree in any discipline. We welcome people from a variety of backgrounds. What is important is your willingness to explore the social sector and the desire to contribute.
The Fellowship carries a monthly stipend of Rs. 27,000. During the period of Fellowship you will be based in some of the most underdeveloped districts of India. The districts to which you will be assigned include:
Chhattisgarh – Dhamtari
Karnataka - North East Karnataka and Mandya
Puducherry
Rajasthan - Sirohi, Barmer, Rajsamand and Tonk
Uttarakhand - Uttarkashi, Almora and Udham Singh Nagar

Selection Process :
Stage 1: Online Assessment - Scheduled on 28th September 2014
Online Assessment / Test will cover aspects of Socio-Economic Geographical & Political understanding, Comprehension, Writing and Analytical Ability.
Candidates shortlisted for test will be informed by email, along with Admit card
The results of the Online Assessment / Test will also be announced by email.
Stage 2: Personal Interviews (week of 13th October 2014)
Applicants who clear the Online Assessment will be invited for a Personal Interview by email
As part of the Personal Interview, candidates should be prepared to make a presentation for about 10-15 minutes on a given topic, to the interview panel.
Who is eligible?
Following are the eligibility criteria for the Fellowship program:
Passion for social change
Post-graduation or Professional degree in any discipline
2 to 6 years of work experience in any sector
Willingness to work in District Institutes of the foundation
What kinds of roles are available during the Fellowship program?
The Fellows at the Field Institute would build their experience bottom up, observing, understanding school, community and government structures and their linkages and later on participating in the projects of their Field Institute.
Some of the other areas that the Fellow can participate in at the Field Institute could be as follows:
Research and Analytics, Monitoring & Evaluation, support to community development workers.
Contribute in designing publications, establishing external connects
Participate in developing modules for Subject Knowledge and Leadership Development
