Job Description
The successful candidate will contribute to the design, implementation and perform validation of atmospheric hazard risk models and will be responsible for the modification of existing in-house cat risk models while identifying new areas of focus within the business requirement. Investigating methodologies from other risk modeling companies with the ability to improve modeling strategies and accuracy using state of the art technologies in-house is required. This individual will work closely with other meteorological staff and research scientists from other offices around the world. They will conduct R&D to optimizing the modeling process of natural perils and risk assessment beyond the common vendor models.

Desired Candidate Profile
- PhD and or MS in Meteorology coupled with a minimum of three-five years related work experience.
- Solid industry experience and proven understanding of the insurance/reinsurance business
- Comprehensive understanding of existing vendor CAT risk models.
- Skills in probabilistic and stochastic modeling.
- Knowledge of numerical modeling and ensemble modeling
- A passion for tropical meteorology and weather forecasting
- Proven management and leadership skills developed through practical experience.
- An established scientific network is a definite benefit
- Previous experience managing and evaluating large amounts of data, testing, calibrating and validating hazard risk models.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
