    1981-2005
    - Joined APR as a chemist, analysing various input raw materials like Casurina, Eucalyptus, Subabul, Acacia, various input chemicals like caustic, furnace oil, lime shell, sea shell, salt cake, coal, HCL etc., and intermediate stage pulp samples for achieving the final pulp quality.
    - Special thrust on final product quality and work independently with the assistance of shift personnel.
    - Conducting research experiments by using various species of wood for suitability in rayon grade pulping.
    - Conducting cooking studies for the yield estimation of Eucalyptus, Subabul, Casurina Bamboo and Acacia to improve the yield per MT of wood / production of the Unit.
    - Conducting bench scale experiments at different stages of the pulp, studies for the minimisation / optimisation of cooking and bleaching chemicals.
    - Conducting experiments for the different combination of wood to get better drainability, ultimately to get better quality of pulp.
    - Conducting experiments by using different surface-active agents to retain cellulose of the final pulp for better reactivity using surfactants to get better viscose preparation at the customer end.
    - Conducting bench scale experiments for removal of metallic impurities at LD tower. Find a suitable chemical EDTA which is helpful for removal of iron content in the final pulp. ( due to presence of iron in final pulp, clog formation is observed in viscose manufacturing process).
    - Bench scale experiments conducted by use in different sizes of chips for different species viz 15-30 mm – 80%, for establishment of better quality of pulp.
    - Defoaming experiments for avoiding foaming of the pulp without affecting the chemical properties of pulp.
    - Studies conducted for eliminating addition HCL in C/D thus improving the life of the equipment used and protection of viscosity at chlorination stage.
    - Conducted bench scale experiments in hypo stage for improving the viscosity.
    From 2000 to till date

    - Coordination with the forward system departments namely washing, bleaching and sheeting during any quality variations and moisture control of the final pulp at sheeting machine. Also co-ordination for trouble shooting of various quality problems in other sections.
    - Close monitoring of effluents discharged. Monitoring of drains pits etc for controlling the effluents discharged to ETP.
    - Keeping close watch on process parameters and the final product to clear the quality material as per the customer’s specifications.
    - Keeping constant touch with the customer to meet needs and expectations for quality product.
    - Close monitoring to meet the statutory norms laid by APPCB / CPCB for air, water and solid waste management.
    Research & development :
    Modification of the process :
    - Upto 2000, we were running with C/D-Eo-H-E-D and achieving a whiteness level of 50-70 % in the final pulp. With the above sequence the final pulp quality was not meeting the customer’s requirement. For improving the whiteness of the final pulp we have conducted bench scale experiments for different sequences of bleaching and finally switched over to C/D-Eop-H-D-Ep and successfully implemented in the plant which has given a whiteness of 75-85% in the final pulp. This has satisfied the customer. No complaints regarding the final pulp whiteness from the customers.
    Computer knowledge :
Well versed with Windows 98, MS Office 2000 and software related to Vibrochrome Meter supplied by Lenzing, Austria.
