Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from the designated Districts of State of Madhya Pradesh to become airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades will be held at Sports Ground, Near Maharani Laxmi Bai (MLB) School, Rite Town, Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) from 11 September 2014 to 17 September 2014 as per the Selection Programme given below.

Selection Programme : The Recruitment Test will be conducted from 7 AM onwards as per the details given below. Candidates (from respective Districts covered below) reporting up to 10 AM on 11 & 14 September 2014 at the Rally Venue will only be permitted to appear in the Recruitment Test.
Note - 1: The Recruitment Test is not for selection as Commissioned Officers/Pilots/Navigators.

Date Of Birth Block : Candidates should be born between 01 February 1995 to 30 June 1998 (both days inclusive). (b) Upper age limit on date of enrolment is 21 years.

Educational Qualification :
(a) Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
(b) Passed Three year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma Course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Diploma Course.
Note - 2: Boards recognized/affiliated by Council of Boards for Secondary Education (COBSE) will only be permitted.
Note - 3: Exact aggregate percentage of marks up to first place of decimal for all subjects as mentioned in the Marks Sheet of Intermediate or 10+2 or equivalent will only be considered (For example, 49.9% will be treated as 49% only).

Mendatory Medical Standards : (a) General Medical Standards for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades are as follows: -
(i) Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms.
(ii) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm
(iii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
(iv) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable.
(v) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately.
(vi) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.
(vii) Health: Candidate should be free from medical or surgical deformity. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
(viii) Body Tattoo: Permanent body tattoos on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), Back (dorsal) part of the hand/reverse side of palm and Tribals with tattoos which are as per custom and traditions of their tribes only are permitted. However, right to decide on acceptability/unacceptability of the individual rests with the Selection Centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit a photograph of the tattoo with details of size and type of the Tattoo.
(b) Leg Length, Visual Standards and Colour Vision for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades are as follows;
Trades : Workshop Fitter (Mechanical), Workshop Fitter (Smith), Structure Fitter, Propulsion Fitter, Weapon Fitter, Electrical Fitter, Electronic Fitter, *Mechanical System Fitter and *Automobile Fitter
Leg Length : Minimum leg length required is 99 cms for *Mechanical System Fitter and *Automobile Fitter.
Visual Acuity : 6/12 each eye correctable to 6/6 each eye
Maximum limits of Refractive Error : Hypermetropia +2.0D Myopia 1D including + 0.50 astigmatism
Colour vision : CP-II
Note - 4: Candidates should bring latest prescription and spectacles for corrected vision, if used. The prescription must bear the signature, stamp and registration number of eye specialist.

Job Specification : Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades involve jobs as given below:
(a) Automobile Fitter : In this trade you are responsible for maintenance and repair of all type of light and heavy duty mechanical vehicles, cranes and loading equipment etc.
(b) Electronics Fitter : As an Electronics Fitter you operate and maintain Radar, Voice and Data transmission and reception equipment mounted on latest airborne weapon delivery systems and ground based air defense systems. You will get trained in Digital Electronics, measuring instruments, radar technology, latest electronics devices and related trade fundamentals.
(c) Electrical Fitter : You will maintain power supply system of latest types of aircraft, airborne missiles and associated ground systems. You will also maintain photo equipment mounted on air borne weapon systems and operate ground based photo systems. You will get trained in electrical trade, operation and maintenance of digital devices, electronic devices etc.
(d) Mechanical System Fitter : You will repair and maintain mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems of airborne missiles, engines, automobiles and aircraft fuelling equipment. Complete aircraft ground support equipment will also be repaired and maintained by you. You will be trained in handling and preparation of bombs and explosives and in electrical system, workshop and mechanical trades as well as automobile mechanics.
(e) Structures Fitter: As Structures Fitter you are responsible for the maintenance and servicing of airframes and their accessories, components and controls of aircraft. Regular checks for the entire hydraulic and pneumatic system to ensure proper functioning against leaks are also part of your duties. You will also be assigned the responsibility of marshaling, parking, picketing and ground handling of aircraft.
(f) Propulsion Fitter : In this trade you will repair, maintain and prepare for use the propulsion system of aircraft and other airborne weapon delivery system.
(g) Workshop Fitter (Smith) : You will undertake major structural repairs of all aircraft at central repair facilities. You will also be trained in workshop trade for material treatment, welding, heat treatment, smithy and basic machine tools etc.
(h) Workshop Fitter (Mechanical) : You will undertake repair and maintenance work of mechanical nature. You will be trained in workshop trade and practices.
(j) Weapon Fitter : In this trade, you will prepare, maintain and service armaments, ammunition and safety equipment of aircraft, missiles and other weapon delivery systems. You will also operate and maintain small arms and bomb destruction equipment. You will be trained to handle bombs, explosives, arms and their installation on weapon delivery platforms.

Selection Procedure :
Verification Of Eligibility : Original Certificates, Mark Sheets and other required documents {NCC ‘A’, ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate, Son of Air Force personnel certificate (SOAFP), Domicile certificate etc.) will be scrutinized and verified at the examination venue prior to commencement of Written Test to ascertain the prima-facie eligibility. Detailed verification will be carried out in respect of candidates who pass Written Test later. Candidature of those who do not meet the laid down educational criteria is liable to be rejected even after written test after detailed verification of original documents.
Note - 6: The original Passing Certificates / Marks Sheets will not be retained by the Selection Centre. The same will be returned to the candidates on completion of detailed verification.

Sequence Of Examination :
Written Test : Written test will be objective type and question paper will be bilingual (English & Hindi) except for English Paper. Duration of the written test will 60 minutes and will be conducted in English, Physics and Mathematics as per CBSE syllabus of AISSCE. CANDIDATES ARE TO QUALIFY IN EACH PAPER SEPARATELY. Results of the written test will be declared on the same day.
Physical Fitness Test (PFT) : All candidates who pass the written test are to undergo Physical Fitness Test (PFT) on the same or the next day. PFT consists of a 1.6 Km run to be completed within 8 minutes. Candidates will also have to complete 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups and 20 squats within the stipulated time to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.. Candidates are advised to bring their sports shoes and shorts.
Interview : Candidates who have passed the written test and PFT will be interviewed. Working knowledge of English is a prerequisite.
Medical Examination : Candidates who qualify in the interview will be medically examined in the month of January 2015. Medical Examination will be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and existing policy in vogue. Medical Examination would also include Baseline Investigation of: -
(a) Hb, TLC, DLC (e) Serum Cholesterol
(b) Blood Sugar Fasting/PP (f) X-Ray chest PA view (Plain)
(c) Urea, Uric Acid and Creatinine (g) ECG (R)
(d) Serum bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT
Candidates declared Medically Unfit can avail the option for Appeal Medical Board (AMB) against their Unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/RBI/SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO). The application for AMB along with original copy of MRO, Xerox copy of Unfitness Certificate and Postal Stamp worth Rs. 25/- affixed on a self-addressed envelope are to be submitted at 15 Airmen Selection Centre, Bhopal for processing within three working days from the date of issue of Medical Unfitness Certificate.

Publishing Of AISL : The All India Select List (AISL) will be displayed at 15 Airmen Selection Centre, Second Floor, Phase—II, Rajiv Gandhi Parisar, 35 Shyamala Hills, Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) on 30 April 2015. A copy of the Display List will be sent to District Magistrate of Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh) (through Airmen Selection Centre) and also available at Indian Air Force website indianairforce.nic.in. The inclusion of names of the candidates in the AISL depends upon the performance of the candidates in the Rally. Inclusion of name in the All India Select List (AISL) does not guarantee automatic enrolment. Enrolment is strictly in order of merit from the AISL subject to medical fitness, availability of vacancies, not exceeding the age of 21 years on date of enrolment and meeting laid down eligibility criteria as and when called for enrolment.
