Yahoo’s Fantasy Football Game 2014/15 :
Welcome to Yahoo’s 2014/15 Fantasy Football game, available on web and app for both iOS and Android. For the first time you can play your favourite league whilst also testing your fantasy skills on all of the other big European leagues; Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A, La Liga and French Ligue 1. We’ve also built an immersive live gaming experience, allowing you to trade players and watch points streaming, real-time, into your app experience. There are three important elements to the Yahoo game to keep in mind whilst picking your team pre-season, as well as managing your team through the season :
1) Player Points :
The Yahoo game is the only game within which players in your team can score points for almost any action they perform on the pitch during real life games. From blocked shots and passes intercepted for defenders, to shots on goal and successful crosses for attacking players, in all, the Yahoo game attributes points for over 25 on pitch actions.
2) Player Prices :
Player prices move as if on a stock market, spiking up after good performances, and falling after bad. The most successful managers can predict when a player is about to hit a purple patch of good form, or can see a certain team has an easy run of fixtures, and will move early to transfer said player into their team. To get a competitive advantage over your fellow managers, it’s just as important to transfer in these players before their streak, as it is to drop that defender you know has a tough game coming up and is likely to score poorly. But remember when you sell, you only get the value back you purchased him for.
3) Unlimited Transfers :
The Yahoo game does not have a limit on the number of transfers you can make, at any time throughout the season. If you wanted, you could change your entire team each week. Likewise if you really fancied Chelsea to thrash West Ham, you could fill your entire team with Chelsea players. But be warned, this tactic is a huge gamble and rarely pays off. Keep an eye on the countdown, which indicates how long you have to make transfers before the gameweek transfer deadline closes. Once it closes, your team is set for the gameweek.
Note :
The most successful Yahoo Fantasy managers will review the upcoming Gameweek fixtures, and make a handful of changes to their team, so they can benefit from having both a base of players they’ve gained value on, and players in their team who might have a favourable next fixture. Another way of gaining a competitive advantage is to capture players at a bargain price before they increase. If Alexis Sanchez lights up the Premier League and scores a hatful of goals, his price will move from £12M toward £20M, and if you’ve bought him at £12M, you’ve got a competitive advantage over your fellow managers buying him later at £20M. The Yahoo game is about tactics, timing and cultivating your team a little each week. Are you ready for the challenge- Come and play now.
