Applications are invited for filling up following temporary project positions purely in project mode in the ICMAM Project Directorate, Chennai, an attached office of the Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES) initially for a period of one year extendable further based on performance as per details given below. If numbers of applicants are large, there will be a selection test.

1 Name of the post : Project Scientist II

Post Code : ME/ PS-II
Essential Qualification: Master’s Degree in Marine Science/ Chemical Oceanography or equivalent from a recognized University/ Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
Experience: Minimum 3 years experience in Marine Chemistry. Experience should be supported by publications in Marine Chemistry. Desirable: Ph.D. in Chemistry/ Organic Geochemistry, working knowledge in the analysis of toxic pollutants (PAHs and other POPs) in the environment.

Essential Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent in Oceanography/Marine Science/ Physics/ Mathematics or related subjects or M.E/ M. Tech. in Coastal/Ocean related subjects or equivalent from recognized University/Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
Experience: At least 3 years experience for M.Sc candidates and 2 years experience for M.Tech candidates in the field of coastal oceanography /coastal processes modeling/ sediment transport/ hydrodynamic data analysis using mathematical models like Mike21/ LITPACK/ ROMS/ Delft-3D/ ADCIRC or similar etc. Experience should be supported by publications or reports.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of field experience in water sampling related to biogeochemistry, plankton identification, food web dynamics.
Desirable: Hands on experience on identification of plankton and their studies on ecology related to nutrient biogeochemistry.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc (Analytical chemistry/Inorganic chemistry/ Marine Chemistry) from a recognized University/Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of field experience in water sampling related to biogeochemistry, nutrient analysis.
Desirable: Hands on experience on spectrophotometer, fluorometer, GC, AAS, experimental knowledge related to development of coefficient.

Essential Qualification: M.Sc (Physics/ Remote sensing/ Marine Science/ Oceanography with remote sensing as a specialization (OR) M.Tech (Remote sensing or related subject) with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
Experience: For M.Sc candidates, minimum 2 years field/ modeling experience and for M.Tech candidates, minimum 1 year field/ model experience in the subject of remote sensing/ satellite oceanography related to coastal resource management.

Essential Qualification: Master degree or equivalent in Oceanography/ Marine Science/ Physics/ Mathematics /MCA or related subjects or M.E/ M.Tech. Coastal /Ocean related subjects or equivalent from recognized University/Institute with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
Experience: At least 2 years experience for M.Sc candidates and 1 year experience for M.Tech candidates in the field of coastal oceanography /coastal processes modeling/ sediment transport /hydrodynamic data analysis. Experience in handling any coastal process models or programming skills using FORTRAN /C++/ MATLAB for coastal related work.

Essential Qualification: Master degree in Computer Science/ Statistics/ Oceanography/ Marine Biology or equivalent with at least first class not less than 60% marks.
Experience: At least 2 years of experience on Oceanographic data - statistical analysis / knowledge on numerical modelling / computer programming / web design etc.
