Awareness Generation Projects For Rural & Poor Women :
Central Social Welfare Board is implementing Awareness Generation Project programme with the aim of creating awareness in the community on issues relating to the status, rights and problems of women. Its main objectives are to identify the needs of rural and poor women, to increase their active participation in decision making both in the family and community on development issues including atrocities on women and children.
Components of the Scheme :
1. Survey of the area :
The Voluntary Organizations shall survey the area where they want to organize awareness camp and prepare a target group.
2. Training of organizer :
Training of the organizer is one of the conditions under the scheme and will be imparted by the identified Training Institute to be determined by the Board.
3. Organizing of camps :
Duration of camp eight days.
4. Follow-up action :
Two days follow-up action will be taken by the grantee organization within six months after completing the camp so as to assess the impact of the camp in the area.
5. Beneficiaries : 20-25 women.
6. Topics for coverage :
The objective of the scheme is to increase awareness amongst women on a set of selected topics so as to both inform and educate them.
Topics that can form part of the camp are :
i. Status of women
ii. Women and law
iii. Women and health
iv. Community health and hygiene
v. Women, technology and environment
vi. Women and the State Government
vii. Religion, culture and women
viii. Women and economy
ix. Women and social action
x. Panchayats and Gram Sabhas,
xi. National integration and communal harmony
xii. Legal literacy
7. Submission of reports and accounts :
Annual impact assessment report, feedback from target group, methodology of training imparted with photographs and accounts to be submitted immediately on completion to the camps of the Board. Accounts to be settled within one month of holding of the camp.
Guidelines For The Voluntary Organisations Applying Under The Scheme Of Awareness Generation Project For The Year 2014-15 :
** The voluntary organisations engaged in work relating to women’s issues can apply for conducting camps in rural, poor and backward areas under Awareness Generation Project.
** The camps under the Awareness Generation Project should be with the aim of creating awareness amongst rural and poor women and society at large relating to status, legal rights and problems of women.
** Preference will be given to proposals which will be on thematic basis and areas based problems.
** The Voluntary Organization should make proper survey of the area to identify the needs and problems of the women and such data should be furnished alongwith the proposal.
** The voluntary organisations should involve participation of local bodies like panchayat raj institution, medical officers, Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), legal experts, social workers, public representatives etc for organising the camps.
** The voluntary organisation should prepare IEC (Information, Education and Communication) material like banners, charts and kits relating to women issues and to be displayed during the camps.
** Activities like role play, puppet shows, nukkad natak and drama skits should be included in the camps.
Deadline :
Last date extended up to 14th Aug, 2014 at 04 :00 PM for receiving online applications through e-AWEDAN Portal under different programmes i.e. Awareness Generation Project (AGP), Condensed Course of Education for Women (CC) and Family Counselling Centre (FCC) for the financial year 2014-15. Voluntary Organisations are requested to apply the programme online on e-AWEDAN Portal at the earliest and do not wait for the last date i.e. 14th Aug, 2014 at 04:00 PM.
