I AM FROM BOMAY CIRCLE NAME N J CHAVAN PF NO0409030. I HAD PROMOTED AS TRAINEE OFFERS ON 31/10/1979 AND MM II FROM 1/08/1988. I HAD WRITTEN TO CENTRAL OFFICE AND LHO PPG BOMAY BUT I COULD NOT GET RS 560 FROM 1/02/2002.

Dear sir,
A dearness allowance circular was issued in which DA advised and payable as 46.90% for the pensioners/family pensioners for the period February 2017 to July 2017 calculated based on quarter ending December 2016 for pensioners retired on and after 01/11/2012.

As our calculation based on six months index i.e cost of index for industrial worker and DA increase/decrease calculated on average of six months. In recent DA for pensioners / family pensioners calculated for the period of October 2016 to December 2016 and DA figure comes to 46.90%. The calculation of DA for retires as agreed by IBA should be average of six months.

The cost of index as under:
July 2016 280
Aug 2016 278
Sept 2016 277
Oct 2016 278
Nov 2016 277
Dec 2016 275

The average of above comes 277.5 ( 280+278+277+278+277+275 =1665/6)

The conversion based on 1960 basis comes 277.5×4.63×4.93 =6334.
Now 6334-4440 =1894
1894/4 ×0.10 = 47.35

Therefore the DA for the pensioners/family pensioners retired on and after 01/11/2012 payable for the period Feb.2017 to July 2017 should be 47.35% not 46.90%. DA of 46.90 % is of working employees in the bank whose calculation on quarter increase/decrease.

The bank has calculated DA for pensioner/family pensioners wrongly and requires strong protest to make correct DA which is 47.35%.

The bank pensioners association should come in action and protest to banking authority to calculate correct DA. The bank authority has taken short cut calculation.
