RS India DesignSpark PCB Contest 2014 :
RS India is happy to announce first edition of RS India DesignSpark PCB (RS India DSPCB) Contest 2014. Contest aims to promote schematic & layout using DesignSpark PCB Software. It is open to students, electronics professionals, hobbyist from India who are interested in electronic design. There is no registration fee for participation but prior registration is mandatory!

About the Contest :
Participants are required to carry out a schematic and layout design of any electronic circuit (project) of their choice using DesignSpark PCB software.

Participants must submit the following online on DesignSpark.com :
** Brief write-up about their electronic circuit (project)
** Schematic design created using DesignSpark PCB
** PCB layout design created using DesignSpark PCB
** Bill of Material of the electronic circuit (project)

DesignSpark PCB is very easy to use, easy to learn electronic design software from RS. There are 30+ online tutorials (Video+Text) available to get started on DesignSpark PCB. CLICK HERE to access the tutorials.

Awards & Recognition :
Top three designs will be awarded cash prize :
First Prize – INR25,000
Second Prize – INR15,000
Third Prize – INR 10,000

Eligibility criteria for Participation :
The contest is open to anybody from India who is interested in electronics design. Industry Professionals, Electronics Designers, Students from Indian universities, Hobbyists, Electronics Enthusiasts are eligible to participate.

Registrations : (Last Date - Aug 15, 2014)
** There is no registration fee for participation. Participants can submit individual entries or form teams with team size of 2-4 members.

** Once registered your can proceed with schematic & layout design of your project/circuit using DesignSpark PCB.

Note :
If you have already carried out a project using DesignSpark PCB and you wish to participate in the contest with your existing project you are allowed to do so.
If you wish to submit more than one project, you are allowed to do so.

Rules & Guidelines for Submission of Complete Design : (Last Date - Sep 15)
Participants are expected to submit their final design files online on DesignSpark DesignShare.

Here are the steps that you must follow :-
** Visit www.designspark.com and create an account for yourself.
** Click on “Contribute to DesignSpark” and visit “Add a New Project”
** Enter Project Name & Project Synopsis
** While writing Project Synopsis include a statement “this is an entry to RS India DesignSpark PCB Contest 2014”
** Regarding Licenses – All entries must be submitted as open source projects and adhere to the Open Source BSD license. For more details read terms & conditions (see below)
** Click on SAVE PROJECT

Once you SAVE PROJECT, you are expected to upload/submit the following to complete your submission.
** Brief Introduction about your design
** Design Description
** Schematic and layout files created using DesignSpark PCB
** Bill of Material with RS Stock Numbers (preferably)
** Prototype (Optional)
** Evaluation & Test (Optional

Results & Evaluation :
1. Completion of design (all the mandatory files & documents to be uploaded on DesignSpark.com)

2. Popularity of the design :
** Number of LIKES received
** Number of useful comments (technical clarifications, questions, technical inputs etc.) received.

3. Quality of the Design :
** Quality of Schematic Design
** Quality of PCB Design.

Quality of the design will be judged by industry professionals working in the domain of electronic design in leading electronics industry.
