Admissions for MCA and MCA (2nd Year Lateral Entry) programmes offered by the Department of Computer Applications, Bharathiar University for the academic year 2014-2015 are going on.

Course Description :
Department of Computer Applications offers one post-graduate course catering to the needs of the current trends. In addition, the department offers M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes to enrich the research activities in the areas including Computer Application for Concurrent Engineering, Data Warehousing and Mining, Digital Image Processing, Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Neural Networks, Soft Computing, Embedded and Real Time Operating System. So far, the department has produced more than 70 M.Phil.s and 12 Ph.D.s. The Department of Computer Application offers Master of Computer Applications course in three streams:
MCA (Regular)
MCA (Differential Fee Structure)
MCA (Lateral Entry)

Eligibility Conditions for Admission to M.C.A. Course :
MCA:
A pass in any recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2 + 3 /4 years pattern) in any discipline with core Mathematics (or) Business Mathematics at +2 level
or
A pass in any recognized Bachelor's degree with 10+3 years Diploma +3 years pattern with Mathematics at Diploma level or Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level
or
A pass in any recognized Bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration (10 + 2+ 3 pattern) in any discipline with Mathematics or Statistics as any one of the subjects.

Candidates should have appeared for TANCET 2014 Examination.

MCA (Lateral Entry): A pass in Bachelor’s Degree of minimum 3 years duration in BCA , B.Sc (Computer Science/ Computer Technology / Information Technology) or equivalent with Mathematics as a course at Higher Secondary level or at Graduate level. Candidates should have appeared for TANCET 2014 Examination.

Application form and prospectus can be obtained either in person or by post from the Registrar from 25.07.2014 on payment of Rs. 500/- for each course (Rs. 250/- in the case of SC/ ST candidates on production of attested photocopy of community certificate) through demand draft drawn in favour of “The Registrar, Bharathiar University payable at Coimbatore”. Candidates who have not written TANCET 2014 can also apply for these courses. They have to appear for the Bharathiar University MCA Entrance Test 2014 (BUMCAET 2014).

The Application form attached with his prospectus, shall be completed in all respects and submitted to the
Head, Department of Computer Application,
Bharathiar University,
Coimbatore-641 046,
on or before the last date.

The envelope containing the completed application form along with enclosures should be superscribed as "APPLICATION FOR M.C.A DEGREE PROGRAMME". The application should be accompanied by attested photocopies of the following certificates:
i) Community certificate
ii) SSLC and HSC certificate
iii) Mark / Grade certificate
iv) Provisional certificate issued by the University / Degree certificate (if already qualified for).

Note: Candidates seeking admission to MCA degree course are required to appear for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test to be held during March/ April 2014 conducted by Anna University, Chennai. Candidates those who have not written TANCET can appear for the Bharathiar University MCA Entrance Test 2014.
