Do you believe in GOD?
Do you believe in God, the almighty, the omnipotent force behind the creation of earth?
Did God create mankind or the mankind created God?

Re: Do you believe in GOD?
Its not easy to answer this question.
Science will not help. Logic wont apply.
What is god or who is he?
How do we come into being?
The question is easily asked than answered.
The physical world we are living in together with universe in entirety is a totally complex set up running with some framed rules. There must be somebody who has framed the rules, defined and designed the setup. That force is unknown and must be very powerful. Does it have a human body or even a shape? Does it really bother about us? I guess there is no need to do so.
I saw a Tamil film recently (Arai enn 305 il kadavul) where the director simbhudevan tries to explain this concept. He uses an analogy and equates us to a lizard trying to understand the operation of a light bulb. For the lizard, the light bulb just switches ON and OFF. The lizard does not know anything beyond that. We are also in the same situation. Whatever we might try, we may not be able to understand the concept of GOD. Because its just beyond our known capabilities.
Our religions are theories trying to explain the unknown concept, in which they fail very badly in doing so. We put forth various rules and try to put GOD into those boundaries. But in reality, do you really believe that the omnipotent power can be defined the way we try to do?
Thats why i left it at that.
So according to me whether GOD exists or not, its going to be of no use to me. I chose to concentrate on other mortal activities I am interested in.
Again thats just me. And I am no authority on this matter.
What do you have to say?
Kannan.

Re: Do you believe in GOD?
One second follows the next, one minute is after another. We get older, not younger and we cannot repeat the minutes that have passed us by. We have all seen the time lines on charts: early time is on the left and later time is on the right. We see nations, people's lives, and plans mapped out on straight lines from left to right. We see a beginning and an end. But God is "beyond the chart." He has no beginning or end. He simply has always been.
Back to the future. lol:
Lallyza - the next Albert Einstein in the making. :P
Yes there is a point in what you are saying.
We dont have a known and universally acceptable definition to this concept, YET.
All those put forth by our religions look childish for an omnipotent power like GOD.
In fact it looks like a disgrace.
Of course, for those who are comfortable with the available definitions, you are the most blessed ones. No hassles. Cling on to it. Seriously.

Re: Do you believe in GOD?
Hi There!!
It is difficult to answer this question. But I believe that there is power above us which is helping us in our problems and making us to face all our difficulties. I believe in that power but I can't tell that it is God, but a power.

George Buffet

I believe in the natural occurring of a spiritual and mental generator of emotions and souls. I believe that all religions worship the same God, while I believe that devotion to a single church and practicing ritualistic devotions is vain, I do not criticize those who do so. I also believe that Jesus Christ was (in a sense) the son of God. I do not worship but I try to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, and I believe, in that, I am a good person.
