SCHEME OF POST-MATRIC SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS BELONGING TO THE MINORITY COMMUNITIES FOR BOTH FRESH AND RENEWAL OF SCHOLORSHIP FOR THE YEAR 2014-15 (For students after XII)

Applications (Fresh/Renewal) are invited through online under post-Matric scholarship scheme 2014-15 from the Minority Community students, who are resident of Union Territory of Puducherry, pursuing education after XII (i.e. B.A., B.Sc., M.A., M.Sc., M.Com., M. Phil., PhD), the courses other than covered under merit-cum means based scholarship scheme for Post-Matric scholarship.

Post-Matric Scholarship scheme is a central sector scheme of the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India which seeks to provide scholarships to religious minority students (Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Parsi) to pursue their Higher education/ Degrees. The Ministry has introduced a system namely, Online Scholarship Management System (OSMS) since 2012 under which students after XII std have to apply online (instead of manual) under the post-Matric Scholarship.

For this purpose, the Ministry has created a new website www.momascholarship.gov.in through which the students have to apply online applications. Only Online applications were accepted and no request for accepting Offline applications. The list of courses covered under the scheme is listed in the above website. Therefore, the students belonging to minority community are hereby instructed to apply online their applications and take a print of the application form and submit the same to their respective educational institution with the following enclosures:
a) Income affidavit in Rs. 10/- non-judicial stamp paper duly signed by the parent/ guardian.
b) Minority Community Declaration affidavit in Rs. 10/- non-judicial stamp paper duly signed by the student.
c) Address proof of Residence (Permanent integrated certificate issued by the Revenue authority of the UT of Puducherry / Ration card )
d) Attested copy of educational qualifications ( X std to present education)

The institution on their part shall forward the application through online and also the hard copy to our Department for scrutiny. The detailed timeline for submission of application is mentioned below.

The students should not submit directly their applications to the Department of Social Welfare. All applications online and hard copy should be routed through their respective institutions/Colleges. For further details and clarifications, the students and institutions are requested to log on to momascholarship.gov.in and click the sub title `Frequently Asked Questions` (FAQ) and Information to Institutes. They may also contact the officials of the Department of Social Welfare at No. 1, Saradhambal Nagar, Puducherry- 605 005.
