Renewable Energy Certificate [REC] :
The Electricity Act, 2003, the policies framed under the Act, as also the National Action Plan on Climate Change (NAPCC) provide for a roadmap for increasing the share of renewable in the total generation capacity in the country.However, Renewable Energy (RE) sources are not evenly spread across different parts of the country

Steps For REC :
The basic procedure for accreditation of the RE generation project shall cover following steps

Step-1 : Accreditation:
An application for availing accreditation shall be made by the generating company to the host State Agency, as defined under Clause 2(1) (n) of the CERC REC Regulations.

Step-2 : Registration:
An application for availing registration shall be made by the RE Generating Company to the Central Agency, as defined under Clause 2(1) (b) of the CERC REC Regulations

Step-3 : Issuance of REC:
An application for issuance of Renewable Energy Certificate shall be made by the Eligible Entity to the Central Agency

Step-4 : Redemption of REC :
The Eligible Entity shall place for dealing of renewable energy certificates, both 'Solar' and 'Non-Solar' Certificates, on any Power Exchange authorised to deal in renewable energy certificates by CERC.

Check List For Registration Application :
1. Hard copy of online Registration application signed and stamped on each page.
2. Accreditation Certificate.
3.Commissioning Certificate/ Commissioning Schedule.
4.Applicable clauses of the declaration given in online application that it has not entered into any Power Purchase Agreement at preferential tariff on the letter head of the company.
5.Fees and Charges.
6. Letter for authorised signatory if application is not signed by MD/CEO.

Note :
All RE Generators are requested to furnish complete documents as mentioned in the check list given on website.
If any information is found missing and asked by Central Agency to furnish then it shall be routed through concerned State Agency to Central Agency .

Check List For Issuance :
After applying online for issuance of RECs, RE Generators are required to furnish following documents in hard copy to the Central Agency.

1.Print out of online energy injection report signed and stamped by authroized signatory (as mentioned during registration).
2.Copy of SLDC injection report.
3.Fees and charges details.
4. Commisioning certificate, only if applying for the 1st time after registartion.

Note :
Energy injection report will be procesed by Central Agency only after aforementioned documents are recived in hard copy.

Fee :
All RE Generators are requested to pay fees & charges related to Registartion/Issuance inclusive of service tax AT 12.36% with immediate effect :
