National Talent Search and National Means cum Merit Scholarship Examination November, 2014 :
NATIONAL MEANS-CUM-MERIT SCHOLARSHIP (NMMS) EXAM & H.P. TALENT SEARCH EXAMINATION ( NTSE-l) - NOVEMBER 2014

State Council of Educational Research & Training. Solan (Himachal Pradesh) proposes to hold two examinations for the academic session 2014-15: National Means-cum- Merit Scholarship (NMMS ) for Class VIII and H.P Talent Search Examination (HPTSE NTSE- I ) for class X students on 02- 11- 2014 (Sunday) at 32 Centres in Himachal Pradesh.

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme (For Class Vlll Students):
Under NMMS scheme 832 scholarships for students of H.P are given by MHRD. New Delhi. The scholarship worth Rs. 5001- per month will be awarded to the poor meritorious students for 4 years i.e. from class IX to XII.

Eligibility conditions for NMMS
1) Any regular student studying in VIII class of Govt.l Local body I Govt. aided (95% aided by H.P Govt.) school in H.P with 55% marks in previous class i.e.Class VII (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST Physically challenged group) can appear in this examination.
2) The parental income of the students should not exceed Rs. 1,50,000/- from all sources and original certificate to this effect i sued by the SDM/Tehsildar/ Naib-Tehsildar) is required.
3) Attach attested photocopy of class VII certificate with the Application form.

National Talent Search Scheme (For Class X Students):
One thousand scholarships are awarded to meritorious students selected in the two stage selection process of NTSE .The students who qualify stage-I of NTSE/HPTSE (state quota 32) will be eligible to appear in National Talent Search Examination (NTSE- II) to be conducted by NCERT, New Delhi on 10- 05- 2015. Student selected in T E-II shall be awarded scholarship amounting to Rs. 12501- per month for class XI & Xli and Rs. 20001- per month for under graduate & post graduate studies.

Eligibility conditions for NTSE :
1) Any regular student studying in class X (Session 2014- 15) of any recognized school in H.P (J V, KV, Govt.or Private schools) can appear in this examination. He should have secured atleast 55% marks in class IX (2013-14). Relaxation of 5% is given to candidates belonging to SCI T/CWS .
2) Attach attested photocopy of class IX certificate with the Application form.

Examination fee of Rs. 401- for General Category and Rs. 301- for SC/ST/CWSN i to be sent in the name of Principal, SCERT, Solan (H.P) by IPO or Demand draft

Candidates claiming caste/tribe reservation mu t attach attested copy of SC/ST certificate issued by DM Tehsildarl Naib- Tehsildar with the application form.

Forms duly attested by the I lead of the institution, complete in all respects along with the documents should reach the Principal, SCERT of by 20-08-2014. Incomplete forms will be rejected straightforward and Examination fee will be forfeited. No information in this regard will be given.

Application forms will be available from 19th Ju1y 2014 and can be obtained free of cost from this office or by sending elf addressed envelope with stamp of Rs.5,- to the Principal, SCERT, Solan or can be downloaded from the website: himachal.nic.in/scert.
