JBNSTS SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP TEST, 2014 IN BASIC SCIENCES, ENGINEERING AND MEDICINE

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP :
The most prestigious scholarship since 1960
A scholarship amount of Rs. 1000/- per month and an annual book grant of Rs. 1000/
Duration of the scholarship is till the end of B.E. / M.B.B.S. / M.Sc. degrees Exposure to seminars, colloquia, educational tour, scientific research projects

IMPORTANT :
According to the announcement of Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, JBNSTS Scholars of Basic Sciences will be directly considered for the Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) under the "INSPIRE" Program. The value of Scholarship is Rs. 80,000/- per annum till the completion of Master's Degree.

WHO CAN APPLY :
Those who have passed their 10+2 examinations in this year (2014) and currently studying in the first year Basic Sciences (Hons), Engineering or Medicine in registered Colleges / Institutes / Universities in West Bengal. Pass course and diploma course students are not eligible.

APPLICATION DETAILS :
Application forms are available with the Principal of your College or can be obtained from the JBNSTS office by sending a self addressed stamped (worth Rs. 10/-) envelope (20 cm. x 12 cm.) or can be downloaded from the JBNSTS website : http://www.jbnsts.org
Non-refundable application fee of Rs. 200/- (Bank Draft in favour of ‘Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search’) to be paid with the completed application form.

SELECTION PROCESS :
It is a multistaged selection process :
Written Test : (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology) will be held at different centres in West Bengal (sample questions will be sent along with the admit card).
Interview : For selected candidates based on written test.
Scientific Creativity Test : For selected candidates based on Interview.

CHECK LIST :
1. Submit your application along with a draft of Rs. 200/- drawn in favour of “Jagadis Bose National Science Talent Search” payable at Kolkata by 5th September, 2014 at JBNSTS.
2. Attested form and photographs (3 places) by the head of your institution.
3. Registration No. will be filled by JBNSTS.
4. Mention your home address (permanent & present and telephone (land & mobile) numbers properly.
5. Attach one self addressed stamped envelope of Rs. 10/- (envelope size – 20 cm. x 12 cm.) for sending Admit Card.
6. If you do not receive your Admit Card by 10th September, 2014, contact JBNSTS office immediately (033 2442 8270).
7. Enclose photocopy of your H.S. or equivalent (+2 level) Marksheet (duly attested).
8. Enclose photocopy of proof of your 1st year (College/Institute/University) admission.
