PCM Scholarship Examination 2014-15 :
PCM Scholarship Examination provides opportunities to the students to compete and test their knowledge in various subjects. It is a test of scholastic aptitude and mental ability. It includes problem solving also. It can certainly strengthen their self-confidence to face any competitive examination in future.

I. The Pattern of the Examination:
There will be no Preliminary Examination.
Pre-Primary- LKG - Oral and Activity Oriented Test.
UKG - the test will be identification and colouring of pictures based on the syllabus having a duration of 90 minutes. Classes I to VII written test having a duration of 90 minutes. There will be only a National Examination for Classes LKG, UKG and I – VII.
The duration of Exam for all the classes will be 90 minutes.
All the registered candidates will appear for the National Level Examination. In LKG class, the test will be ORAL and activity oriented. In UKG, the test will be identification and colouring of pictures based on the syllabus.

II. The Schedule of the Examination:
Classes I – VII
National Level Examination : October 11, 2014 (Saturday)
For Pre-Primary (LKG &UKG) and
Classes I –VII
Declaration of results : January 9, 2015 (Friday)
Last date of submission of entry format : August 16, 2014 (Saturday)

III. Eligibility:
English medium schools functioning in any State or Union Territory of India or abroad following the syllabus of any Board of Examination in India are eligible to enrol their students in LKG, UKG and Classes 1-7 for this examination. There will be separate examination for each class. Enrolment of candidates less than 10 numbers from pre-primary and less than 10 numbers from Classes 1–7 from a school will not be accepted.

IV. Syllabus:
The syllabus for the Examination comprises General Knowledge, various subjects, aptitude tests and language skills. It is prepared keeping in view the learning level of students in each class. Copies of the syllabus will be sent to the participating schools for free distribution among the participants.

V. Fees:
Examination fee is Rs. 100 per candidate. Out of this, Rs. 10 per candidate may be kept by the school for meeting their miscellaneous expenses. The balance Rs. 90 per candidate should be sent by a crossed a/c payee Bank Draft payable at ERNAKULAM in favour of PCM COUNCIL along with the entry format or shall be remitted in cash at PCM Office along with the entry format.

Those who apply online should send the account payee bank draft in favour of PCM COUNCIL along with the Registration page obtained from the website duly filled in.

VI. Awards and Scholarships:
Gold Medal, Scholarship amount of Rs. 1501/- & Merit Certificate – 1st position Silver Medal, Scholarship amount of Rs. 1001/- & Merit Certificate – 2nd position Bronze Medal, Scholarship amount of Rs. 701/- & Merit Certificate – 3rd Position Medals and Scholarship amount of Rs. 250/- & Merit Certificate – 4th & 5th positions Medals and Scholarship amount of Rs. 175/- & Merit Certificates will be given to those candidates

who score 90% marks and above in LKG and UKG, 80% marks and above in Classes I – IV and 70% marks and above in Classes V – VII. Those candidates who score 60% marks and above will be given Certificates.

The schools which produce excellent results will be honoured with trophies and mementos.

Best School Award : for the school securing the highest points – Statewise and Overseas in the Pre-Primary, Primary and Upper Primary sections. Topper School Awards : for those schools securing 500 points and above in Pre-Primary, 1000 points and above in Class I – VII. Calculation of points : Grades: A1 - 10 points, A2- 7 points, A3 - 5 points, B - 4 points, C-2 points. Mementos : for those schools presenting Gold Medal winners.

VII. The last date and the procedures to enrol the candidates:
Schools can apply online at www.curriculumindia.com (guidelines enclosed) Those who want to apply direct can use the two forms enclosed – Form No. 1 and Form No.2. Enter the classwise total of the candidates appearing for the examinations, and the School Code correctly in the

relevant columns. Enter the names of the candidates in Form No. 2. The names should either be typewritten or handwritten legibly in capital letters. Please ensure that the names and initials of the candidates are entered correctly. Please send both the forms duly filled in and duly signed and stamped by the head of the school, along with

the required fees so as to reach the PCM Office on or before August 16, 2014.

VIII. Examination Centres:
There will be Examination Centres in all major towns and cities in India and abroad. Centres are selected considering the convenience of the schools. The list of Examination Centres is enclosed. You may kindly select three centres of your convenience and write the centre numbers in the columns in Format I as per your preference. All schools having a participation of 200 students or more shall be centres even if they are not listed in the present centre list. Such schools can write ‘self centre’ in the column.

The schools are requested to give permission to PCM Council to use their premises as examination centres and also to avail the services of their teachers as Invigilators / Examiners at the neighbouring centres, if required. These teachers will be given an honorarium for their services.

Guideline for online submission of application :
Follow the five simple steps :
Step I:
Log in using your school code as log in id and the first 4 letters of the school name without space or dot, as password.(e.g.: For “ST. GEORGE SCHOOL “ password is “STGE “)
Step II:
Enter the school details, click “Next” and confirm the details. You can see the names of last year’s participants as promoted to the next class,which permits add/edit/delete operation.
Step III:
Take a print out of this list and log out. Edit the list and prepare this years participants.
Step IV:
Log in again and add/edit/delete the names on the website as per the list you have prepared.Take a DD from your bank in favour of PCM Council payable at Ernakulum for the Amount shown on your computer.The amount is calculated @ Rs. 90/- per participant. Enter the Details of the DD. Now you are ready for the “Final Submission”.
Step V:
Click “Final Submission”, Take the printout of the FORMAT generated by the computer and send the same along with the Bank Draft to The Secretary,PCM Council, Unichira Jn, Changampuzha Nagar P.O, Cochin - 682 033, with the seal and signature of the Principal. Newly Participating Schools can enter the names directly.
