Job Description
1.1. Job Specification

A position is available in Game Theorem -Art Sound and Creative Team for the purpose of 3D Graphic Design. This position requires the design and development of 3D models and environments. The position will require a core skill of modelling, lighting, texture mapping, animating and production rendering. The position will also require pre-development skills such as competitor analysis & design research, conceptualization of innovative ideas, production of storyboards, and communications of ideas within a Rapid Application Development environment. The position will be responsible for all creative input regarding 3D, and must be able to map ideas into tangible and effective project plans for cost-effective development. The position will also be responsible for conducting the development and final release of all 3D design projects; and will, overall, report to the ASC team leader.

1.2. Activity Schedule

The position will be responsible for conducting the following daily activities:

Conduct 3D development (Modelling, Texturing, lighting and Animation)
Research and Development of latest 3D techniques
Initiate, communicate and document innovative ideas
Work within a divisional project management framework
Provide solutions for 3D specific requirements
Produce concepts (or storyboard if necessary) that are mapped to solutions
Conduct quick and effective prototyping exercises for approvals
Provide reasonable estimates for approved development
Be able to balance creative effort within rigid time constraints (if need be)
Provide production ready graphic resources to developers
Assist developers in interpreting resources
Compile and document library of 3D graphic resources for future use

1.3. Academic Pre-requisites

Degree or Diploma in 3d Modelling & Animation
Degree or Diploma in Fine Arts

1.4. Skill and Proficiency Pre-requisites

Minimum of 3 years 3D Graphic Design working experience
A detailed portfolio (self-running)
At least 3 years experience in one of the following 3D packages:
Lightwave (preferred, up to latest version)
3D Studio Max
Zbrush
Maya
XSi Softimage
Bitmap Software Packages (min 2 years experience)
Photoshop
Application Knowledge
Microsoft Word, Excel
Industry Proficiency (in order of preference)
Computer Gaming or Similar Development
Commercial or Corporate 3D Graphic Design

1.5. Personality Pre-requisites

Good in Translational communication (designer to developer, designer to manager)
