Admission to Post Graduate Degree Super Speciality / Higher Speciality Courses for the academic year 2014-15

Eligibility for Admission:
Candidates should possess Post Graduate M.D. / M.S. or its equivalent recognized Degree for D.M./M.Ch. courses respectively as prescribed by the Medical Council of India.

2. Candidates should have obtained permanent registration either from the Medical Council of India or any of the State Medical Councils. Candidates should produce the additional qualification registration certificate of their post graduate degree from the Medical Council of India or the respective State Medical Council.
3. All other conditions as laid by the Medical Council of India will apply.

Duration of the Course: The period of training for obtaining D.M./M.Ch. Degrees shall be 3 completed years.

Scheme of Entrance Examination:
1. All the candidates seeking admission should appear for the All India Level Common Entrance Examination conducted by Chettinad Academy of Research & Education.
2. The Entrance Examination question paper will consists of 180 multiple choice questions covering all the subjects of M.B.B.S. Degree Course and specalities concerned (broad and higher).
3. The duration of the entrance examination will be 3 hours.
4. Candidates should report at the examination centre 30 minutes before the commencement of examination. No candidates will be allowed to enter examination hall 30 minutes after commencement of examination.
5. Candidates will not be allowed to carry textual material, printed or written, bits of paper or any prohibited materials such as mobile phones, calculator, paging device or electronic gadget inside the examination hall. If anyone happens to bring any of these items the same should be deposited outside the examination hall solely at the risk of the candidates.
6. Candidates should maintain silence in the examination hall.

Hall Ticket:
1. Hall Ticket for the Entrance Examination will be issued only to the eligible candidates. If any candidate has not received the Hall Ticket he/she should contact the office of the Registrar over phone immediately or report by fax. For such candidates, duplicate Hall Ticket will be issued on the day of the examination at the examination centre.
2. Admission to the Entrance Examination will not guarantee admission to the course.
3. Hall Ticket must be produced at the time of Entrance Examination without fail.
4. No candidates will be allowed to write the Entrance Examination without a valid Hall Ticket.

Mode of Selection:
1. Selection will be made based on the marks secured by the candidate in the All India Level Common Entrance Examination.
2. Merit list will be displayed in the University Notice Board.
3. The university will not intimate the unsuccessful candidates individually regarding the result of Entrance Examination and no correspondence on this subject will be entertained.

Counseling: Counseling dates will be intimated individually to the candidates.

Commencement of the Course: The classes will commence on 01.08.2014.

Submission of Application:
1. Application form can be obtained from the office of the Registrar, Chettinad Academy of Research & Education on payment of 2,500/- (Rupees Two thousand five hundred only)
2. The application form can also be downloaded from the University’s official website. The downloaded application duly filled in shall be submitted along with a Demand Draft for the amount drawn in favour of “Chettinad Academy of Research and Education” payable at Chennai. The name of the candidate and the higher speciality applied for i.e. D.M. or M.Ch. should be mentioned on the reverse of the demand draft.
3. Application form should be filled in carefully and legibly by the candidate in his/her own handwriting.
4. Furnishing of false information or suppression of material / information in the form will make the application treated as cancelled.

Certificates to be enclosed along with the application:
Photocopies of the following certificates duly attested by a Government Gazetted officer, should be enclosed along with the application form
1. Proof for Date of Birth and Age
2. The Post Graduate Course Completion Certificate from the parent college institution where the candidate had undergone the Post Graduate Degree Course
3. M.B.B.S. Degree Certificate
4. Post Graduate Degree Certificate / Provisional Pass Certificate awarded by the university concerned to which the institution is affiliated.
5. Permanent Medical Registration Certificate of the M.B.B.S. Degree and additional qualification Registration Certificate for Post Graduate Degree issued by the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council.
6. Post Graduate Degree Attempt Certificate obtained from the institution where the candidate completed his/her Post Graduate Degree.
7. Conduct Certificate issued by the head of the institution last studied.
8. Migration Certificate wherever applicable.
9. Community Certificate …….. for the purpose of statistics only.
