Applications are invited from suitable candidates for one position of Project Assistant in the Wellcome Trust - India Alliance funded project entitled "Specificity and mechanism of Star-PAP mediated alternative polyadenylation in gene regulation" in the Laboratory of Dr. Rakesh S Laishram at Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology, Thiruvananthapuram.

1. Name of the post : Project Assistant
No. of post : 01
Essential qualifications : Bachelor's degree in any branch of modern biology/biotechnology with a strong interest in research.
Age : Below 35 years as on 15th October, 2013.
Emoluments : Rs 10,000/- consolidated.
Duration : Five years or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier).

2. Name of the post : Junior Research Fellow

Essential Qualifications : Master's degree in any branch of biology/ biotechnology with a good academic records and a strong interest in research.
Age : Below 35 years as on 15th October, 2013.
Emoluments : Rs 12,000/- + 20% HRA in the I and II years; Rs 14,000/- + 20% HRA for the rest of the years. Or Rs 16,000/- + 20% HRA in the I and II years; Rs 18,000/- + 20% HRA for the rest of the years for CSIR/ UGC - JRF (or equivalent) candidates.
Duration : Five years for Wellcome Trust - India Alliance funded project and three years for the DBT funded project or till termination of the project (whichever is earlier).

ii) Suitably qualified candidates may send applications in the prescribed format with a photograph, a copy of full resume and attested photocopies of credentials & experience to reach the undersigned on or before 15th October, 2013.

iii) Envelopes must be superscripted with abbreviated title of the project, advertisement number and job title. Selection to the position will not entitle the candidate to any future positions at RGCB (permanent or otherwise). As with all project positions at RGCB, the position will be co terminus with end of the project.
