Checkmate :
Checkmate comprises of 3 rounds. All the participants are requested to abide by the following rules.
1. Each team may have 2 or 3 participants.
2. All the participants should belong to the same institute.
3. A person can be a part of one team only.
4. Any number of teams can participate from one institute.
5. All teams are required to register for the quiz both on Avartan site and Dare2compete.com
6. The decisions of the organizers of the contest will be final and binding on all the participants.
Round 1 :
1. Round 1 is a quiz which puts to test the consulting acumen of the teams. All teams are required to register for the quiz both on Avartan site and Dare2compete.com.
2. Selected teams based on the cumulative score of quiz in Round 1 will be through to the second round.
Round 2 :
1. The event is a clue based and time bound online decision making challenge. It is a test of astute thinking and quick decision making.
2. Participants will be evaluated on their approach and ability to think beyond the obvious and adapt to changing dimensions of the problems.
3. Your submission should be in a ppt/pptx format only .
4. The front slide should carry.
a.Institute Name & address
b. Team Name
c. Detail of the team members (Name, Avartan ID, Course, Email IDs and Phone nos.)
5. These details of the participants SHOULD NOT appear anywhere else in the entry submitted.
6. The number of slides (excluding the cover slides) should not exceed the below mentioned:
a. Initial Case: 2 slides
b. Scenario 1: 2 Slides
c. Scenario 2: 2 Slides
7. Do Not introduce the case again in your submission, write only your analysis.
8. Make suitable assumptions wherever required and mention them clearly.
9. The Avartan IDs of at least one team member should be present in the footer column on all slides.
10. Entries should be mailed to events.avartan@gmail.com with the subject name as:
a.“CheckMate<space>College Name<space>Team Name”
11. The Document name for the three submissions should be (in order)
a. “CheckMate_College Name_Team Name_Initial”
b. “CheckMate_College Name_Team Name_Scenario 1”
c. “CheckMate_College Name_Team Name_Scenario 2”
12. The submission should be made on time as mentioned in table.
13. The decision of the panel of judges regarding evaluation will be final and binding. In case of any ambiguity, the decisions of the organizing committee shall be final and binding.
14. Top 5 entries from the second round would be invited for the campus round.
Round 3: Campus Round
1. Details to be shared later.
Total Prizes worth : Rs 50,000/-

Blog Blot :
1. The competition is open to students of all B Schools in India. There is no entry fee. (Individual event- Participant is allowed to send only one entry).
2. The topic of the blog must be chosen from the given options.
3. The blog should contain about 800-1000 words.
4. Any submissions after the given deadline would not be accepted.
5. Include photos wherever required.
6. Provide references wherever necessary.
7. Please ensure that the articles are original and there is NO plagiarism.
8. Non adherence to the subject format may lead to disqualification of your entry.
9. The organisers maintain the right to disqualify any participant for violating any of the above rules. Organizers’ decision shall be final and binding.
10. The winners shall be intimated through mail. Results would also be declared on Avartan Facebook page.
Topics:
1. How the youth of today can spearhead the next sustainability revolution? How the choices they make an impact the planet as a whole and make the world a more sustainable and harmonious place to live in?
2. People and media have been talking a lot on “the planet in stress”. What has been the notable efforts made by individuals & organization to ‘de-stress’ the planet?
3. What is the impact of agriculture on the environment? What are the various keys concerns and how can they be addressed?
4. Three notable global initiatives: Formula E ektitli.org/tag/formula-e/, Planet solar, Solar Impulse ektitli.org solar-impulse-around-the-world-in-a-solar-airplane/) are creating landmarks for next generation technology. How will these impact the common man in the coming future?
Note : The Serial Number is the topic number.
Submission Details :
1. Do not forget to register for the contest on the Avartan website (avartan.nitie.org) under EHS & Sustainability Events.
2. The name of the topic must be the heading of the article.
3. The article must be submitted in a .doc or .docx format only.
4. Entries must be sent to envision.isem@gmail.com with the Subject Line: BlogBlot_<College Name>_<Your Name>_<Topic_Number> Example: BlogBlot_NITIE_XYZ_Topic1
5. The name of the document must be in the following format: <name_of_participant_topic_number > Example: xyz3
6. The cover page of the article should contain the Selected Theme, Title of the Article, the Authors' Name, E-Mail IDs and the Institute's Name.
7. Use Times New Roman font with 12 as font size and line spacing 1.15.
Prizes Worth:
1st Prize – Rs 1000 plus certificate.
2nd Prize – Rs 500 plus certificate.
