Job Description
RESPONSIBILITES
- To maintain the Testing Strategy, a standardised testing approach for use across the Programme, ensuring consistency across all testing
- To propagate the use of the standardised approach
- To develop a centre of excellence for testing resources within the Programme
- Managing the system test team
- To specify the level of testing required and the appropriate test approach to meet the defined business requirements within any specific release.
- To ensure that any solutions proposed fit within the Enhancement Testing Strategy and the technical direction of the MOTCOMP Solution.
- To be the technical authority in the design and construction of testing elements as part of the overall project delivery team
- To provide testing guidance to the project team during development, unit test, system test and UAT.
- To ensure all testing risks are managed
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure timely and appropriate delivery with regards to testing activities and products
- Producing test plans for each release, including functional, regression and technical testing , as required
- To ensure the provision of and review test schedules;
- To ensure the best test methodology for the given areas requiring testing is used
- To ensure the test team is working to agreed schedule(s), defining priorities, allocating work according to the schedule, defining objectives, measuring performance and ensuring mitigating action are put in place to avoid/ minimise slippage
- Ensuring the quality of the test preparation and test execution by reviewing the test documentation
- Providing the lead for test methodology for the team, providing advise and guidance
- Providing the Test Report for each release
- Involvement in the formal Fault assessment reviews and Go No-go decision meeting for each release;
- Providing metrics on test progress and coverage
- Ensuring the quality of all system test documentation, through both internal and formal reviews..
- Liaise with customer during UAT to ensure timely and appropriate support and delivery with regards to testing activities and products

PERSONAL QUALITIES, SKILLS & EXPERTISE
- The candidate must processes the negotiation skills and personal presence to represent Siemens at the highest level both externally and internally, establishing confidence and respect as an individual.
- A proven track record in working as a Test Manager in a project of considerable complexity and size.
- Must possess good communication skills, including excellent spoken and written English.
- Must be able and willing to proactively gain an excellent understanding of the functionality, by familiarisation with the project functional specification and the high level designs.

- Formal accreditation as a qualified functional system tester
- Minimum of 5 years of Test Management in a multi-project environment
- Minimum of 7 years in of testing at integration, functional and user acceptance on a variety of architectures
- Minimum of 3 years of technical testing, stress, volume and performance testing on a variety of architectures
- Minimum of 5 years experience of using testing tools and test harnesses
- Introduction of configuration management processes and controls in a Programme environment
- Minimum of 5 years experience of writing Test Scripts in a formal environment
- Minimum of 2 years experience of Exploratory Testing in a formal environment
- Minimum of 2 years experience of managing Risk Based Testing
- Experience or setting up and running automation activities, Mercury Interactive tools a distinct advantage
- Ability to articulate and implement formal test design techniques including Equivalence Partitioning, Boundary Value Analysis and State Transition testing
- Minimum of 3 years experience in performing coverage analysis on formal test designs
- Minimum of 2 years experience of Risk Based Testing in a formal environment
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- Initiative and be able to work with minimum supervision
- The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
- A flexible and pragmatic approach to work
- The ability to be an effective team player
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal

- Be comfortable with multi tasking
