Are you a Business Builder? If so, Be! Fund just might be for you.
www.befundindia.com
Location: Mumbai, traveling across Maharashtra
Be! Fund is India’s first risk capital fund for young people who live in poverty. We invest up to RS 500,000 in young people’s ideas as risk capital, not debt. We’re a new sustainable enterprise fund that believes the poorest people in India have enterprise solutions to the problems we face, we just have to ask. From water to waste, energy to employment, crime, transportation, communication - we think there’s an answer. Our hero Bollywood movies have been aired on STAR, and we continue to screen our movies on local cable channels and we have radio episodes too - this is how we find our pipeline of entrepreneurs, through mass media, our call to action.
We are looking for a full time Business Builder to join the Be! Fund team to interview over 75 young entrepreneurs with brilliant ideas, every quarter - we’d like you to work with them to develop business plans. You’ve got to be able to write a business plan, interview young entrepreneurs in Marathi/Hindi, and construct a cash-flow statement with them as they talk. You will be willing to travel across Maharashtra, enjoy exploring new sustainable businesses, new ideas and create a compelling story from your visit. You will also be objective, and decide not to take entrepreneurs forward during the process if you feel their business just won’t work, does not make monetary sense, or their heart is not in the right place. You will collaborate with and report to the Project Director in Mumbai, COO and CEO in Delhi.
You may have just graduated and see this as an in-between job for one year to build your skills for an MBA. In which case, it’s great experience.
On the other hand, you may have more experience, and recognize the innovation, new approach and insightful process Be! Fund applies - and you’d like to commit for a longer duration. We’d love to have you join the team.
In both cases, you can create financial models in an instant, speak Marathi and get excited by crafting the best business plans possible so the entrepreneurs you work with get invested in by the Investment Committee and become the heroes we all know they can be. You write excellent, comprehensive business plans.

4 Identify risks, ideas for mitigating risks, skills required, competition, assess the social and environmental impact - travel to verify all of your assumptions (site level visits across Maharashtra. 50% of your time every month will be spent traveling)
5 Develop a formal business plan with a written and numerical analysis of the proposal.
