Nalanda University which is being set up at Rajgir in Nalanda District of Bihar, is looking to appoint experienced, dedicated and committed persons to the following posts;

1.Name of the post : Registrar
Pay Scale : US$ 30,000 – 45,000 per annum
Age: Preferably below 60 years.
Tenure: The appointment will be for a tenure of three years.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Master’s degree with at least 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade of ‘B’ in the UGC or equivalent seven/ ten point scale.
2. At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor or its equivalent in the GP of Rs.7000 and above or with 8 years of service in the GP of Rs.8000 and above including as Associate Professor or equivalent along with experience in educational administration OR
Comparable experience of 15 years in Research Establishments and/or other Institutions of Higher Education or in the Government sector OR
At least 15 years of administrative experience, of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or in an equivalent position

2.Name of the post : University Engineer
Scale of pay : US$27,000-40,000 per annum
Maximum age limit : 55 years
Tenure : Initially for three years for direct recruits or on deputation basis.
Period of probation (if any) : One year for direct recruits
Essential Qualifications :
1. Graduate in Civil Engineering from a recognized engineering institute/ university, possessing good working knowledge of R.C.C. and Masonry Design, together with reasonable knowledge or exposure to Water Supply & Plumbing Design, Electrical Engineering and HVAC systems.
2. At least 15 years experience in managing the execution of building projects covering all aspects of construction (Civil, Water Supply & Plumbing, Electrical Works, HVAC and Site Development).
3. At least 10 years administrative experience in a responsible position -preferably a Superintending Engineer in the Indian Engineering Services or equivalent, in a government organization or university/research institution of higher learning/reputed public sector undertaking or in the private sector.
4. Well conversant with contract law and CPWD/PWD accounting procedure.

3. Name of the post : Legal Assistant
Scale of pay : US$ 8000-14000 per annum
Age limit for direct recruitment : 40 years
Tenure : Initially for a period of 3 years
Period of probation (if, any) : One Year for direct recruits
Method of Recruitment : Tenure contract or by deputation
Essential Qualifications :
1. Degree in Law (Professional) from a recognized University with second division with 55% or above marks.
2. Valid registration with the Bar Council of India
3. At least 3 years experience in handling court cases in a government/semi government organization and/or practice before High Court or Lower Court in Civil/Labour matters.
4. Hands-on experience in handling computers.
