Description : In this experimental investigation three non-edible vegetable oils are selected for the test on diesel engine and examined the suitability as an alternate fuel. These oils are heated to minimize the effect of viscosity. The performance and emission characteristics are evaluated at variable loads and the results are compared with that of diesel oil. The thermal efficiency, brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) and brake specific energy consumption (BSEC) are studied.
