ADMISSION NOTIFICATION 2013-14

The Institute invites applications for admission to the following integrated pre-service programmes for the academic year 2013-14.

1. Programme : Bachelor of Science Education (B.Sc.Ed.)
(Integrated UG Programme to prepare Secondary School Teachers in Science and Mathematics)
Duration : 4 Years (Eight Semester CBCS Scheme)
Stream/Electives :
a) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
b) Botany, Zoology And Chemistry A pass in Hr. Sec./PUC /equivalent examination with 45% marks in the aggregate with subjects;
Eligibility :
i) Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for PCM Stream, and
ii) Physics, Chemistry and Biology OR Chemistry, Botany and Zoology for BZC stream.

2. Programme : Bachelor of Arts Education (B.A.Ed.)
(Integrated UG Programme to prepare Secondary School Teachers in English and Social Science)
Duration : 4 Years (Eight Semester CBCS Scheme)
Stream/Electives :
a) English Literature, Social Science and Language Studies
b) English Literature, Social Science and Geography
Eligibility : A pass in Hr. Sec./PUC / equivalent examination with 45% marks in the aggregate with ;English, Regional Language and any two of the following; History/ Geography/ Economics/ Political Science/ Sociology

3.Programme : Master of Science Education (M.Sc.Ed.) - Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics
(Integrated PG Programme to prepare Senior Secondary School Teachers in Physics/ Chemistry/ Mathematics)
Duration : 6 years (Twelve Semester CBCS Scheme)
Stream/Electives : Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the first eight semesters and Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics in the last four semesters
Eligibility : A pass in Hr. Sec./PUC/ equivalent examination with 45% marks in the aggregate with subjects ;Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

4.Programme : Master of Education (M.Ed.)
Duration : 1 Year (Two Semester CBCS Scheme)
Eligibility : A pass in B.Ed. / B.Sc.Ed. / B.A.Ed. or equivalent degree with 50% marks in aggregate. Candidates with a PG degree will be given appropriate weightage.

5.Programme : Diploma Course in Guidance and Counseling (DCGC):
Duration : One year
DCGC is offered through distance mode. Admission in September / October 2013.

How to Apply :
i) Separate application is required for each programme and stream / subject within a programme. Requisition for application form should be sent to the Section Officer (Academic Section), Regional Institute of Education, Mysore 570006 accompanied by a crossed Demand Draft from any nationalized bank for Rs.500/- for each application (Rs.350/- in case of SC/ST candidates), drawn in favour of the Principal, Regional Institute of Education, Mysore 570006 payable at Mysore along with a self-addressed 26cm ´ 12cm size envelope bearing Rs.10/- postal stamp, mentioning clearly the name of the programme and stream / subject on the top of the envelope.Payment will not be accepted in the form of Money Order or Cash or Postal Orders.

ii) Application form can also be downloaded from the website.

iii) The duly filled in application form along with attested copies of certificates should be sent to the
