Qualifications: Candidates should possess M.A./M.Sc./M.Com. in the relevant subject with B.Ed. As per G.O.Ms.No. 361 School Education Department dated 31.12.1999. Candidates should have studied the same subject in Bachelor's Degree and Master’s Degree, both for academic subjects and Languages. For the post of Physical Education Director-Grade-I, the candidates should have any Bachelor's Degree with M.P.Ed. Degree. All degrees should be from UGC/NCTE recognised Universities only. The candidates apply only for which the vacancies are notified and subject code numbers assigned. The candidates applying for the posts mentioned in Annexure I should have passed Tamil Language as Part I or Part II upto SSLC and PUC/ Higher Secondary Course levels. If not, he/she should pass Tamil Language Test conducted by the Tamilnadu Public Service Commission within two years from the date of their appointment.

Equivalent Qualifications: If a candidate claims that the educational qualification in the subject possessed by him/her is equivalent to though not the same as those prescribed for the appointment, he/she has to produce the subject equivalence G.O issued by the Government of Tamil Nadu. Government orders issued prior to the date of this notification alone be considered.

Age: Candidates should not be over 57 years as on 1-7-2013 as the age of superannuation is 58 years

Scheme of Examination: The written examination will consist of a single paper of 3 hours duration with 150 MCQ’s each question carries one marks.

Examination fee : Rs.500/- (Rs.250/- for SC/ST and Differently Abled) in any Branch of STATE BANK OF INDIA / INDIAN OVERSEAS BANK using only the prescribed challan attached with the prospectus.

i) The Application Form (OMR format) along with Prospectus can be purchased (from 31.05.2013 to 14.06.2013) in person from the Office of the Chief Educational Officers of all 32 Districts in Tamilnadu on payment of Rs.50/- (Rupees fifty only) in cash towards the cost of the Application Form and Prospectus.

ii) Submission of Filled-in Application Forms:
Candidates are advised to submit the filled-in forms at the Office of the Chief Educational Officer concerned, and obtain acknowledgement for the same. Candidates are advised NOT to send the filled-in Application forms by post or in person to the Teachers Recruitment Board, Chennai-6.

iii) Applications received in any form other than the one issued by Teachers Recruitment Board or Chief Educational Officers shall be rejected.

Applications are invited upto 5.30 p.m. on 01.07.2013 for Teacher Eligibility Test - Paper I and Paper II for the year 2013 from the eligible candidates in Tamil Nadu.

Eligibility to Write TET :
Candidates should possess the following prescribed qualifications to write the Teacher Eligibility Test l
a. Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Course (10+2 Pattern) and Diploma in Teacher Education / Diploma in Elementary Education (regarding other State D.T.Ed Certificate, evaluation certificate is necessary) in a Recognized Teacher Training Institute / DIET and seeking an appointment as Secondary Grade Teacher for classes I to V (except Visually Impaired Candidates) can write Paper I.

b. Candidates who have passed a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A. /B.Sc. / B.Litt.) with Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, History and Geography or a Degree with any one of the equivalent subjects (Regarding equivalent subject, Government orders issued prior to the date of this notification alone will be considered) from a Recognized University under 10+2+3 Pattern and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.) from a Recognized University and seeking an appointment as Teacher for classes VI to VIII can write Paper II.

c. Candidates appearing for the Final Year Examination of D.E.Ed / B.Ed during the current Academic Year (2012 – 2013) are also permitted to appear for the Teacher Eligibility Test. Such Candidate’s should have successfully completed the course in the current Academic Year (2012-2013) itself and should produce D.E.Ed / B.Ed Certificate during Certificate Verification otherwise they shall not be considered for current year Government recruitment process. However they may be issued with TET certificate after producing D.E.Ed Diploma certificate / B.Ed Degree Certificate.

Centre for Examination : Examination will be held in all the 66 Educational District Headquarters. Candidates should appear for the examination at their own expenses. The board reserves the right to increase the number of examination centers and to re-allot the candidates for administrative reasons.

c. The Examination fee is Rs.500/- for all the candidates except SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates. For SC/ST and Differently Abled candidates examination fees is Rs.250/-

d. The fee should be paid by the candidate in any Branch of the State Bank of India or Indian Overseas Bank or Canara Bank only using the Prescribed Challan attached with the Prospectus. Payment of Fees in any other method will not be accepted.

e. Candidates should use the OMR Application Form only. NO other form of typed or printed or photocopied application forms will be accepted and such applications, if any will be summarily rejected.

f. While making payment of fees through the Challan the candidate should take care to write all the necessary details without fail.

g. The filled-in Application Form and the TRB Copy of the Fees Payment Challan must be put inside the envelope provided and submitted in person in the Office of the District Educational Officer. Candidates are advised to get the acknowledgement on the photo copy of the application form.

h. Submission of Application Forms online or by post or fax is NOT accepted by the Teachers Recruitment Board. Such received applications shall not be accepted and they will be summarily rejected

i. DON’T send the filled-in Application Form directly to the Teachers Recruitment Board.

Scheme of Selection: Scheme of selection involves two stages. Marks will be awarded to all candidates based on the certificates produced along with the Application Forms as per criteria and also the marks awarded during the time of Interview,
