This Undergraduate Information Brochure 2013 covers admission to the following academic programmes offered at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra:
(1) Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm)
(2) Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT)

1. Programme : B. Pharm
Minimum Eligibility Criteria:
a) Candidates must have appeared in JEE (Main) 2013 OR NEET-UG 2013
b) Candidates must have passed Class 12 / I.Sc. or Equivalent Qualifying Examination (QE)
c) Candidates must have passed in English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics / Biology / Biotechnology in Class 12 / I.Sc. or Equivalent Qualifying Examination (QE) with minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST).
d) Marks in Class 12 to be computed as average of following 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology / Biotechnology.
Selection Procedures: Provisional selections to the 4-year (8-semester) Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) programme will be on the basis of merit will be drawn by giving -
a) 60% weightage to JEE (Main) 2013/ / National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2013 Score [total marks obtained] and
b) 40% weightage to academic performance (marks in Class 12 / equivalent qualifying examination)

2. Programme : BHMCT
Minimum Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have passed Class 12 / Intermediate or Equivalent Qualifying Examination (QE) with English as a subject.
Selection Procedures:Provisional selections to the 4-year (8-semester) Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology (BHMCT) programme will be on the basis of merit determined by marks obtained in Class 12/Equivalent Qualifying Examination (QE).

Fee : Demand Draft for Rs.2,000/- (General) and Rs.1,200/- (SC/ST) candidates (non-refundable) in favour of “Birla Institute of Technology”, payable at Ranchi,

How to Apply :
i) Application format can be downloaded from the website.

ii) send the completed form along with two recent colour photographs (one pasted on the form and one attached by clip to the form), with photocopies of all marksheets, certificates (see List of Enclosures), and a crossed Demand Draft in a A4 size envelope by appropriate means well in advance of the due date (preferably by means of which e-tracking is possible)

iii) Write ‘name of programme applying for’, on the top of envelope.

iv) You may use one application form to apply for only ONE programme, that is either B.Pharm or BHMCT. Use separate application forms if you wish to apply for 2 programmes.

IMPORTANT DATES:
1) Availability of Application Form (Pdf. - downloadable) on the Institute website : 7 May 2013
2) Last date for receipt of completed forms with crossed Demand Draft : 25 June 2013
3) Display of list of short-listed candidates called for document verification cum admission (for 1st round) on the Institute website and Notice Boards : 30 June 2013
4) Classes will commence from : 15 July 2013

Documents required at the time of reporting for document verification cum admission :
Candidates would be required to have the following original certificates and documents at the time of reporting for documents verification cum admission, as well as one set of photocopies of all these documents.
1. Pass Certificate of Class 10 (Age proof)
2. Marksheet of Class 10
3. Marksheet of Class 12 / I. Sc. or equivalent
4. Admit Card of JEE (Main) 2013 / NEET-UG 2013 (for B.Pharm programme)
5. Score Card of JEE (Main) 2013 / NEET-UG 2013 (for B.Pharm programme)
6. School / College Leaving Certificate
7. Migration Certificate
8. Originals of caste certificate (if applicable). Caste certificates must be in proper format, signed by appropriate authority of rank not less than SDO.
9. Originals of being physically handicapped certificate (if applicable). Candidates belonging to physically handicapped as mentioned in brochure, must have relevant certificate(s) in proper format signed by appropriate authority.
10. Photo identification: (Driving license, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID, School /College ID are acceptable).
They should also carry a photocopy of their duly completed Application form.

Documents required at the time of Admission : If provisionally selected, candidates will be required to submit all the above documents in original at the time of admission (except the photo identification documents), along with the requisite fees.
