Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), statutory body under the administrative control of Govt. of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, (Department of Consumer Affairs) responsible for activities in the field of Standardization, Product and System Certification, Hallmarking of Gold/Silver Jewellery, Laboratory Testing etc., in the country INVITES applications for recruitment to the various posts, as per the details given below;

Applications are invited to for engagement of apprentices under Apprentices Act-1961 in the following disciplines;

Consolidated stipend : The apprentices shall be engaged for a period of one year on a consolidated stipend of Rs 10000/- for Graduate Engineers and Rs 7000/- for Diploma Holders.

Eligibility :
i) Candidates must have passed out with minimum 50 % marks (45% for reserved categories) in the concerned discipline from an Institute recognized by AICTE, New Delhi , State Board of Technical Education affiliated to University or attached to UGC.
ii) Candidates who shall be appearing in the final year examination in 2013 shall also be eligible to apply. The candidates, however, shall be considered for selection only if they pass the prescribed qualification acquiring the above mentioned percentage of marks by 8 July 2013. Candidates who have acquired the prescribe qualification before 2011 are not eligible.

Selection methodology : Selection methodology will comprise of personal interview of shortlisted candidates.

iii) No documents are required to be attached with the application sent through e-mail.

iv) Same application form duly filled and signed in original, with two recent passport size photographs, one set of attested photocopies of qualification certificates along with proof of identity and all original documents shall be produced at the time of interview.

v) Candidates shortlisted for interview and final results of selection will be intimated through e-mail only.
