Tamilnadu Chief Minister's Farmers Security Scheme :
The TamilNadu Government in their G.O.Ms.No.265 Revenue(L.R.1(2) Dept Dated: 10.9.2011 have implemented the TamilNadu Chief Minister's Farmers Security Scheme for providing to the land less agricultural labourers farmers and cultivating tenants of the District. This scheme comes into force on the 10nd day of september2011. This scheme provides for the distribution of cash assistance to the registered members of the scheme under various welfare program. The following personsare eligible to enroll as a member.

Eligibility Criteria to become a member :
All the cultivating tenants both registered and unregistered in the agegroup of 18 to 65 years who carry (or) personal cultivation in land not exceeding 2.50 acreof wet or 5 acres of dry,

The following relations of the registered members, who do not derive any income are considered as dependents.
** Wife or Husband.
** Children
** Children and wife of the deceased son
** Parents.

There is no fee for registering as member.

The following occupations are considered as agriculture related occupations for the purpose of enrollment as member in this scheme.
** Horticulture
** Sericulture
** Crops, Cultivation, Grass farming
** A Person who uses his whole or part of his land for grazing
** Cultivating crops used as fertilizer.
** Dairy farming
** Poultry
** Animal Husbandry
** Growing Trees
** Engaged is Local fishing.

The details of Various assistance provided in this scheme :
** Marriage of Members

** Natural Death with Funeral Expenses
** Accidental death with Funeral Expenses.

1. Marriage of Members :
In this scheme Rs.8000/- is disbursed for registered male members and Rs.10,000/- for registered female members.

2. Marriage of Members’ Children :
In this scheme, Members Children Marriage, Rs. 8000/- is disbursed for male child and Rs.10,000/- is disbursed for female child.

3. Old Age Pension Scheme :
In this scheme Rs.1000/-is disbursed to the registered members up to their death from the age of 60.

4. Natural Death Scheme :
Rs.12500/- (Financial Assistance Rs.10,000/- + Rs.2500/-for Funeral expenses) is disbursed to the registered member’s family who has attained natural death.

5. Accidental Death :
Rs.1,02,500/- (Financial Assistance Rs.1,00,000/- + Rs.2,500/- for Rs.1,02,500/- Funeral expenses) is being disbursed to the registered member’s Family who has attained Accidental death.

Funds Allotment :
The financial allocation for the payment of assistance under the various categories of the scheme is made by the commissioner of Land Reforms, Chennai.
