Development of AL6061 alloy-Beryl composite and wear studies
Al6061 - Beryl composite containing 2-12% of Beryl particles were fabricated by stir casting (vortex casting) method. The composite thus produced was subjected to hot rolling with 20% reduction. The wear test was carried out on matrix and the composite with different loads ranging from 1N to 20N using a pin on disc apparatus. Wear rate was evaluated based on Arched equation and Friction behavior was be studied.
