APPLICATIONS ARE INVITED FOR ADMISSION TO Ph.D., M. TECH AND PG DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES - JULY 2013 BATCH

Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Deemed University (DU), contributes significantly in the sphere of Human Resources Development for the Defence Forces by way of imparting education and training on Defence Technology to the officers of Armed Forces, Scientists of the DRDO, Technical Officers of the Ordnance Factory Board, Directorate of Quality Assurance, Public Sector Undertakings, General Public and friendly foreign countries.

1. Name of the Programme : Ph.D. PROGRAMME
Eligibility:
a. 55% marks or equivalent CGPA in M.E./M. Tech. for Ph.D. in Engineering; Master of Science with 55% marks or equivalent CGPA for Ph.D. in Science.
b. GATE Score / UGC-CSIR NET certificate.
Candidates who are in the final semester of their PG degree are eligible to apply; Mark sheet up to the last semester should be produced during interview. Provisional passing certificate and mark sheet of the final semester are required to be submitted before commencement of program.

2. Name of the Programme : M.TECH PROGRAMME
M.Tech admission is offered in the following disciplines;
1. Name of the Program : Aerospace Engineering (Guided Missiles)
Qualification : B.E./B. Tech degree in Aeronautical/ Mechanical /Electrical /Electronics / Electronics & Communication/ Chemical Engg.

2. Name of the Program : Computer Science & Engineering (Cyber Security)
Qualification : BE/B.Tech in Computers /Electronics/ Communication/M.Sc. in Computer Science.

3. Name of the Program : Radars & Communication
Qualification : B. E. / B. Tech degree in Electronics / Communication Engg.

4. Name of the Program : Mechanical Engineering (Armament / Combat Vehicles)
Qualification : Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering

5. Name of the Program : Materials Science & Technology
Qualification : B.E / B. Tech./ M.Sc or Equivalent in Metallurgy / Materials Science / Materials Engg / Mechanical Engineering / Ceramic Engg / Polymer Engg/ Nano- Technology / M. Sc. Or Equivalent in Physics / Chemistry.

6. Name of the Program : Lasers & Electro-optics
Qualification : Masters degree or equivalent in Physics/Applied Physics / Electronics / Electronic Science or a B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engineering) degree or equivalent in Electronics / Electrical/ Communication / Telecommunication / Electronics and Communication Engineering / Engineering Physics, M.Sc. in Computer Science with Physics and Mathematics at graduate level.

7. Name of the Program : Modeling and Simulation
Qualification : M.Sc. in Mathematics / Physics / Statistics /Computer Science (Provided mathematics is one of the subject at the graduate level), Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Technology. Proficiency in computer programming is essential.

8. Name of the Program : Chemical Science & Technology
Qualification : M.Sc in any branch of Chemistry of BE/B.Tech in Chemical Engg or BE/ B.Tech (Polymer) or equivalent degree.

9. Name of the Program : PG Diploma in Bio Science & Technology
Qualification : M.Sc in Life Sciences and Physical Sciences / BE or B.Tech in any branch of Engineering or B.Sc degree with minimum 2 years of research experience in R&D institutions.

Qualification: 55% marks or 5.5 CGPA in the qualifying examination as indicated against the disciplines concerned and valid GATE Score / UGC-CSIR NET Certificate (GATE Score / UGC/CSIR NET certificate is not required for PG Diploma in Bio-Science & Technology). The qualification should have been obtained from a recognized (by UGC) University / Deemed University / Institution in India. The candidates who are in the final semester of their degree are eligible to apply; Mark sheet up to the last semester should be enclosed. Provisional certificate in such cases along with Mark sheet of the final semester are required to be submitted before commencement of program.

Application fee : Rs.200/- (100/- for SC/ST candidates) per programme is required to be paid by DD drawn in favour of Vice Chancellor, DIAT, Pune, payable at Pune.

How to Apply :
i) Candidates have to apply online on the website.

ii) A print out of the application acknowledgement generated by the system after upload of application has to be forwarded to the
Deputy Registrar (Academics),

along with the DD drawn and with the self certified copies of mark lists, certificates and other testimonials.
These documents should reach us latest by 12 May 2013.
