IIT Bhubaneswar invites applications for the Joint M.Tech. -Ph.D. programme for the admission year 2013-14. This programme has been designed to encourage bright students with research aptitude to enrol themselves for Ph.D. after completion of 3rd Semester of M.Tech. programme.

Eligibility :
1. Applied Geosciences : First Class in M. Sc. in Geology/ Applied Geology / Geological Sciences/ Geophysics/ Exploration Geophysics along with valid GATE score.

2. Civil Engineering : First Class in B. Tech./ B.E. in Civil Engineering or equivalent along with valid GATE score.

3. Climate Science & Technology :
i) First Class in M. Sc. In Atmospheric Science/Marine Science/ Oceanography/ Meteorology/ Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics along with valid GATE score.
ii) First Class in B. Tech./B.E. in Civil Engineering/Applied Mechanics/ Aeronautical Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/ Computer Science & Engineering or equivalent along with valid GATE score.

4. Electronics & Communication Engineering : First Class in B.Tech./ B.E. or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering or equivalent along with valid GATE score

5. Materials Science and Engineering : First Class in M.Sc. Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Geoscience or First class in B. Tech./B.E. or equivalent Metallurgy, Material Science/Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, Electrical Engineering along with valid GATE score.

6. Mechanical Engineering : First Class in B. Tech./ B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent along with valid GATE score.

Number of Seats:18 in each programme

Selection:
i) Selection of candidate is based on performance in GATE and personal interview/written test or both. The weightage for GATE Score and written test/interview will be 70% and 30% respectively.
ii) Personal interviews will conducted at IIT Bhubaneswar
Note: A candidate who fails to appear for the Personal Interview/Written Test will not be considered for admission.

Application fee: Rs.300 for General and OBC candidates and Rs.150 for SC/ST/PC candidates drawn in favour of "IIT Bhubaneswar" on any nationalized bank payable at Bhubaneswar.
