ROBOTICS
LINE FOLLOWER
Task :
The task is to build an autonomous robot which is capable of traversing a black line on a white background. The black line to be followed will be of width 30mm.

Specification :
** The dimensions of the base of the bot should be 20cm x 20cm x 20cm.
** The potential difference between any 2 points in the circuit should not exceed 12V.
** Robots must not use ready-made mechanisms, Lego kits, etc. However, ready-made sensors and microcontroller kits can be used.
**
GAME PLAY
Round 1:
This is a general round where every team is allowed to have a trial round and based on the time of completion they are eliminated. Two warnings are given for each robot when it goes out of the track. When the robot goes out for the third time it is eliminated.

Round 2:
Based on the distance travelled by each participating team, few teams will be selected for the finals. The selection criteria and the number of teams will be based on relative assessment and will be informed later. The time taken for the traversal will also matter a lot for the selection into the final round.

Finals:
The last set of participants will have to compete and the team who compete with the track with the fastest time will be the winner. The path may contain any number of loops, turns or curves. The bot must be capable of neglecting those breaks and must travel along the line.

GENERAL RULES:
** A team may consist of a maximum of 3 members. Students from different educational institutes can form a team.
** Any student with a valid identity card of their respective educational institutes is eligible to participate.
** Teams are not allowed to replace parts between runs. They are, however, allowed to replace defective sensors, but with a penalty added to it.
** Change of batteries and modifications to the code are allowed but the game play has to be restarted.
** Any damage caused to the arena at any point of time will lead to disqualification / penalty.
** If the robot is manually touched except at the start, then it will be considered as a violation and will lead to penalty.

EVENT RULES:
** The line to be traced (black line) is of 30mm in width.
** The robot has to reach the end point in minimum time.
** Times as well as penalty in the round will be taken into account.
** The number of rounds will be changed based on the number of participants.
** Judges’ decision will be final.
