Sardar Swaran Singh National Institute of Renewable Energy, an autonomous Institute of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy has initiated `SSS-NIRE Bioenergy Promotion Fellowship' to promote research activities in bio-energy and to attract competent researchers in this field. Applications in prescribed performa are invited from eligible candidates for JRF/SRF/ PDF programme in the field of bioenergy. The broad spectrum of bioenergy covers biomass characterization, Biomass plantation, Biomass management, Biomass conversion technologies (pyrolysis, gasification, and biomethanation), Liquid biofuels (biodiesel, bioethanol, bio-oils), Algal biomass production, biohydrogen production etc.

(i) Name of the post : POST DOCTRAL FELLOWSHIP - PDF
No. of post : 03
Age Limit: The upper age limit for Post doctoral fellowship shall be 35 years
Stipend/ Fellowship Amount : Rs.22000 PM +HRA (if hostel accommodation not provided)
Essential Qualifications: The minimum qualification is Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree with published work in peer reviewed/journals (SCI/Engg.) in the field of Renewable Energy or relevant field of science and engineering. Those who has submitted their thesis and are likely to appear for final Viva-voce within six months are also eligible to apply.

(ii) Name of the post : SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS - SRF
No. of post : 01
Age Limit: The upper age limit for SRF shall be 32 years
Stipend/ Fellowship Amount : Rs.18000PM+HRA (if hostel accommodation not provided)
Essential Qualifications: ME, M.Tech or equivalent degree in Engineering/Technology (Chem. Engg., Mech. Engg., Agri. Engg., Civil Engg., Biochem. Engg., Energy Engg., Environmental Engg., Environmental Science., etc.) with minimum 60% marks. Or MSc, BE, B.Tech with minimum 60% marks and at least two years of post M.Sc, BE, B.Tech, research experience as evidence from fellowship/ associateship or traineeship and published papers in standard refereed journals

(iii) Name of the post :JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS - JRF

Age Limit: The upper age limit for JRF shall be 28 years
Stipend/ Fellowship Amount : Rs.16000 PM+HRA (if hostel accommodation not provided)
Essential Qualifications: Candidates must either have 60% marks or equivalent CGPA in B.E./B.Tech. ( degree in Chem. Engg., Mech. Engg., Agri. Engg., Civil Engg., Biochem. Engg., Energy Engg., Environmental Engg, Environmental Science., etc.) with a valid GATE score/ or must have 60% marks in M.Sc.( Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology) (preference will be given to NET/GATE qualified candidate).
