Odisha Diploma Entrance Test (DET) 2013 governed by Department of Employment and Technical Education & Training, Government of Odisha came out with the concept of holding a common entrance test for all the Professional diploma courses of the state. The basic purpose is to select candidates for consideration of admission to the state polytechnics (both government and private) on the basis of the results of a single competitive examination, which would lead to saving of time, energy and expenditure on the part of the candidates in appearing at number of entrance tests.

Qualification :
Pass in HSC examination conducted by BSE, Odisha/ 10th standard examination declared equivalent by BSE, Odisha and obtained at least 35% marks at the qualifying examination with pass in both Math & Science subject.

Pass in 10+2 Examination from CHSE, Odisha or its equivalent examination in Science/ Arts/ Commerce recognized by CHSE.

AGE AS ON 1.7.2013 : Lower age 16 years and Upper age – No bar

IMPORTANT NOTES
Candidates for DET-2013 have options to apply either ON-LINE or OFF-LINE.
1. This Information Brochure is for admission to Diploma Engineering / Diploma Engineering (Lateral Entry) / Diploma Non-Engineering courses for the Academic Year 2013-14 only. Its contents are subject to change without prior notice.

2. Admissions to 1st semester Diploma Engineering Course and 3rd semester Diploma Engineering (Lateral Entry) shall be made on the basis of the merit rank of DET-2013. There will be web based e-counseling for admission to 1st / 3rd Semester Engineering Courses. Admissions to Non-Engineering courses shall be made on the basis of the merit rank of DET-2013 through manual computerized Central Counseling.

3. Application fee for applying DET-2013,
i) The candidate desirous of applying ONLINE can make their payment (Non-Refundable) of Rs.300/- (Rupees Three Hundred) only through NEFT mode at any Bank having Core Banking System (CBS) facility / Challan at any Branch of AXIS Bank.
ii) The candidate desirous of applying OFFLINE for DET-2013 has to deposit (Non-Refundable) Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) only by Cash for the Information Brochure and OMR Application form which are available for sale at the sale- cum -receipt counters as mentioned at Chapter-5, Clause-3.2.

Submission of completed filled in Application form :
Completed application form must be deposited either by hand at any sale- cum- receipt counter or sent to the Principal, Bhubanananda Orissa School of Engineering, Cuttack-753007 by Registered / Speed Post/ Courier with acknowledged delivery, which must reach on or before the last date of submission of Application form

HOW TO APPLY DET-2013 :
Candidates are advised to read the eligibility criteria at Chapter-3 carefully. A candidate can apply for DET- 2013 either ONLINE or OFFLINE. If a candidate does not fill the category option to which he/she belongs, then he/she will be deemed to be a ‘GENERAL’ category candidate.

FOR APPLYING ONLINE
1. To apply online application form for DET 2013, the applicant has to visit website. Please use Internet Explorer 6.0 browser or above while applying online.
2. Download “Information Brochure” by clicking the link” Download Information Brochure”.
3. Read carefully the Information Brochure before filling and submitting application form.
4. Click the link “Apply Online” to fill and submit application form.

FOR APPLYING OFF-LINE
Sale of OMR application (Off-line Form & Information Brochure) will start from 10 A.M. dt.28-01-2013 and closes at 5 P.M. dt.15-03-2013. The application material can be obtained from any of the sale cum receipt counters as listed. The cost of application material including the Examination fee is w500.00 per candidate for OFFLINE mode.

Which bank of draft will be accepted for DET?

The Examination fee for entrance test is Rs.300/- (Rupees Three hundred only). Candidate can make payment only through NEFT or Axis Bank Challan. The payment of fees have to be paid on or before 16.03.2013 at 5:00PM. Payments received after this date and time will not be considered.

After submitting application form, application number will be displayed. There are two options to deposit application fees
** Applicant can print NEFT deposit form and deposit application fees at any Bank (with CBS facility) where the applicant has Bank Account (transfer application fee from applicant’s account to DET account mentioned in NEFT form)
** Applicant can print Challan deposit form and deposit fees at any Axis Bank counter by cash/cheque (DET account mentioned in Challan form)

Only the applications against which application fees is received will be considered and other applications against which application fees not received will be rejected. Application Fees will be received till 25.03.2013 at 5:00PM

** A Duplicate Admit Card can also be obtained from the center superintendent on payment of ‘.20/- with an application written by the candidate and two (2) nos. attested recent photographs of the candidate identical with the photograph pasted in the original Application.
