Applications for JET-2013 are invited from candidates desirous of seeking admission to diploma courses in the institutions (located in Punjab and Chandigarh -UT) affiliated to the Punjab State Board Of Technical Education And Industrial Training.

JET -2013 (Joint Entrance Test) will be conducted by the Board for admission to various diploma courses which are being offered or proposed to be offered in the Institutions. The admission to the Institutions will be based on the JET merit category wise. Reservation shall be as per reservation policy of Govt. of Punjab/UT Chandigarh.

Eligibility : The test shall be open to candidates who have passed the Matriculation examination with Mathematics, Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) and English from State Board/ Central Board i.e. CBSE/ ICSE/ National Open School or from any other Country.

SCHEDULE : The Joint Entrance Test will be conducted on 7th April, 2013.

SYLLABUS : The syllabus for this test is broadly based upon the syllabus prescribed for Matriculation Examination (i.e. 9th and 10th classes) of Punjab School Education Board.

EXAMINATION SCHEME : JET-2013 will have one paper of 200 questions (English-40, General awareness and Aptitude-40, Mathematics-40, Physics-40, Chemistry-40).

The question paper will have multiple choice objective type questions only. There will be no negative marking in the JET. The objective type questions shall be answered on a pre-printed Optical Mark Reader (OMR) answer sheet. The candidate is required to mark his/her responses as per instructions given on the OMR answer sheet.

PROCEDURE FOR APPLYING FOR THE JET :
For appearing in the JET only OMR application form needs to be submitted. The form is available at a cost of Rs.50/- only.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORM: The JET Application Form(also referred to as OMR Form) complete in all respects should be enclosed in the envelop supplied with the form and submitted at affiliated polytechnic institutions and at the Board's Office on or before last date of submission of Application Form.

EXAMINATION CENTRES : The JET will be conducted at all district head quartes and important cities based on the number of candidates.The exact location of the Examination Centre at these places will be intimated in the Admit Card, which shall be issued to the candidates on acceptance of their Application Form by the Board.

DUPLICATE ADMIT CARD : Candidates who do not receive the Admit Card by 1st Week of April may contact Board's office on 4, 5 and 6 April, 2013 for issue of Duplicate Admit Cards. Admit Card can only be issued after showing photocopy of the submitted Application Form. A copy of the Admit Card is also available in the Board's websites. Candidates, who do not receive Admit Card by post, can take a print out from websites and proceed to the Examination centre alongwith a copy of the passport size photograph.

No fee will be taken while submission of the application forms. The application form will be collected by the respective Principals of the Schools of both Govt. as well as private sector and the Govt. and Private Polytechnic Institutions affiliated with the Board.

AFTER JET, PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION :
** Detail procedure including reservation policy for admission to various diploma courses shall be outlined in Admission Prospectus after the JET test.
** Admission Prospectus will be made available from the 3rd week of April. The exact date shall be notified through newspapers.
** Admission Prospectus will be available at a cost of Rs. 250/- through District Suvidha Centres, Banks, Book sellers and the affiliated institutions.
** This Admission forms shall be then submitted by the candidates at District Suvidha Centres, Banks and the affiliated institutions with a processing fee of Rs. 300/.
** The online admission counseling will not be charged any fee and shall be started from the last week of June.

Step No. 1 : Fill Online Application form for Joint Entrance Test and get your Application No./ Enrollment No.. Following are the detailed instructions/steps to fill the online application form.
Candidates should make sure that all the fields /entries are filled correctly.
Carefully fill the choice of centre for appearing in JET-2013 examination. First select the JET Examination District/ State and then select JET Examination centre. Please click here to see the detailed list of examination centres.

Step No. 2 : Submit and print Application Form. Make sure that bar coded application form is printed on A4 size good quality paper. No cutting /rectification should be made on this printed application form with pen. In case of any rectification in any particular new online Application Form should be filled and a new Application No./ Enrollment No. should be generated.

Step No. 3 : Paste a recent photograph on the printed application form in the space provided for same. Do not staple or pin this photograph. Photograph need not be attested. Also this printed application form should be signed by candidate and Father/ Guardian of the candidate.

Step No. 4 : Candidates applying through this online filled and printed JET Application Form are required to deposit the Demand Draft of Rs. 50/- as cost of the Application Form drawn in favour of Secretary, The Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training payable at Chandigarh.

Step No. 5 : To complete the online submission of application form for JET-2013, It is must to send printed Online Application Form alongwith the demand draft through Post / courier at the Office of the Board. Only those students for whom the online printed application form along with fee are received before the last date(7th March'2013) by Board's office will be issued admit cards to appear in JET-2013 examination . Candidates are advised to retain the photocopy of online printed Application Form, Demand Draft and postal receipt with them for further queries.
