position : Quality Engineer
General Description :
The Quality Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the overall quality requirements of NDI are maintained and continually improved through diligent management and control of its supplier quality and plant quality processes.
Scope Of Responsibilities :
Supplier Quality (60%)
1. Manage a QMS-focused supplier database taking into account supplier surveys, supplier qualification audits, supplier surveillance audits and supplier performance;
2. In support of the Purchasing function, perform supplier qualification audits to help Purchasing in the supplier selection process. Analyze and document supplier performance and proactively address issues that can impact NDI customer commitments and quality targets;
3. Evaluate manufacturing nonconformities attributable to supplied products and work with suppliers in root cause analysis and corrective action/preventive action addressing trends in nonconformities;
4. With critical suppliers, take the lead in addressing, documenting and closing the loop on supplier-related issues; and
5. On matters of new product introduction, coordinate closely with Manufacturing Engineering, and communicate requirements to suppliers, and ensure diligent follow through in terms of Prototype, Pre-launch and Full production stages.
Plant Quality (40%)
1. Support, maintain and improve established quality processes relating to ISO 9001 and ISO 13485, QSR, FDA, MDD, CE, etc.;
2. Assist and participate in Registration and Surveillance Audit activities as required;
3. Work with Manufacturing Engineering and R&D Engineers in determining root cause and preparing/documenting corrective and/or preventive actions pertaining to nonconformities from customer returns and manufacturing processes;
4. Prepare monthly summary reports as it relates to Product Return rates (RMA) and Internal Manufacturing Process Yields;
5. Based on statistics, prepare corresponding Action Registers and lead quality-operations meeting to address negative trends/patterns identified;
6. Ensure that action items on Action Registers are acted upon and put to closure in a diligent and timely manne;
7. Provide support to Engineering in the preparation of Process FMEAs and Control Plans; and
8. Participate in new engineering releases / first article evaluations.
Requirements :
1. Post-secondary education in a Quality, Engineering or Manufacturing related discipline;
2. Five (5) years experience working in an ISO 9001 and/or ISO-13485 environment within the electronics manufacturing industry;
3. High degree of familiarity with SMT, wave soldering, electrical testing (e.g. ICT), burn-in and functional testing processes;
4. Demonstrated supplier selection and supplier audit experience;
5. Practical experience in the use of statistical and problem solving tools and techniques like Acceptance Sampling, Statistical Process Control , Design of Experiment, Process FMEA, Control Plans, 8-D methodology, 5-Why root cause analysis;
6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, advanced experience with office software, solid statistical process control experience; and
7. Self-starter, organized, goal oriented, team player.

Position : Applications Engineer, Industrial Division
General Description :
As part of NDI's Industrial Division, the Applications Engineer will provide a wide variety of technical functions primarily in the support, installation and sale of NDI's advanced measurement systems used in industrial settings for reverse engineering and inspection. This position will involve frequent travel to customer sites.
Scope Of Responsibilities :
1. Act as an industry expert for a target market served by NDI (e.g. Automotive, Heavy Industry, Aerospace & Defense, Energy, Industrial Manufacturing);
2. Assist in the design of product demonstrations, and perform demos and technical benchmarks at customer meetings, trade shows and conferences;
3. Provide product training to customers and distributors in a proactive manner;
4. Investigate and resolve technical issues related to the use of NDI products in new or existing customer applications, generally ranging from moderate to complex in nature;
5. Provide application knowledge to assist in the preparation of white papers and technical marketing material;
6. Troubleshoot and diagnose NDI products to ensure performance according to specifications; assemble all necessary technical information and customer specifications in order to prepare proposals and quotations;
7. Follow up on sales inquiries and other sales leads, demonstrating enthusiasm and drive to close new business for the Industrial Division; and
8. Manage and maintain CRM records.
Requirements :
1. Post-secondary degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, related engineering field;
2. 2-4 years' professional experience in in a CAD-based metrology environment;
3. Previous technical sales experience;
4. Experience with software relating to 3-D non-contact surface measurement and part-to-CAD inspection (e.g. PolyWorks, PowerINSPECT, Geomagic);
5. Geometric Dimensioning &Tolerancing experience;
6. Experience working in an industrial environment an asset;
7. Strong problem solving skills and technical aptitude with a keen focus on customer satisfaction;
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
9. Highly motivated and enthusiastic team player, driven by both individual results and team success; and
10. Willingness to travel 25%.

position : Team Lead, Design Verification
The Team Lead, Design Verification is a hands-on role driving the verification activities at NDI.
Scope Of Responsibilities :
1. Provide direction, supervision and guidance for the verification activities at NDI:
2. Provide direction, guidance and assistance for the employees on the Design Verification team as well as other developers performing verification tasks
3. Facilitate cross-project consistency in test design strategies, methodologies and best practices, as well as promoting the reuse of already existing concepts, solutions and tools
4. Provide long-term vision and development of strategic plans for the Design Verification group; and
5. Plan/forecast resource requirements (personnel, equipment, software tools, etc.) to develop and grow department in relation to company needs and participate in the hiring process as required.
Develop and execute test plans, processes, and procedures :
1. Working with other Resource Managers and Project Managers, determine and implement appropriate plans to ensure the timely completion of design projects; and
2. Participate directly in the creation and execution of test strategies, processes and procedures as required for the verification tasks related specific design projects.
Develop and implement best practices in design verification :
1. Identify, form, implement and evolve best practices in design verification in support of NDI's Design Process; and
2. Responsible for the overall management of NDI's Risk Management Process for Product Development, and as well, assist in the development, implementation and improvement of the ISO 9001 Design Process.
Requirements:
1. Minimum 5 years in product development and test engineering
2. Prior supervisory and project management experience
3. Post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Engineering or related field
4. Strong interpersonal skills in a cross-functional setting
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6. Sound problem solving skills and understanding of mathematics;
7. Electronics experience and/or programming experience in C, C++ and Java an asset, and
8. Exposure in medical device software lifecycle processes such as IEC-62304 an asset.

Position : Accounting Assistant
General Description :
We are looking for a new or recent grad to join our Accounting Team! Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Accounting Assistant is responsible for the accurate and timely completion of a variety of accounting and finance functions within NDI. This position will interact closely with other internal teams, and will gain broad exposure to the Finance department's day-to-day operations.
Scope Of Responsibilities :
Invoicing and Accounts Receivable :
1. Process invoices for all product shipments and services;
2. Review A/R Aging to ensure it reconciles to the company balance sheet;
3. Apply customer payments to their accounts; and
4. Manage past due accounts by contacting overdue customers to prompt payment.
Accounting :
1. Prepare the HST & VAT returns on a monthly basis;
2. Maintain Capital Asset database;
3. Initiate intercompany billings between related companies;
4. Reconcile company debt; and
5. Assist in various other accounting areas, as determined by the Accounting Manager.
Responsibility for the Reception Area :
Work in this role involves coverage of the reception area during lunches, and acting as "back up" during sick days and vacation.
Requirements :
1. Completion of post-secondary accounting program;
2. Strong organizational and time management skills;
3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills;
4. Experience with spreadsheet construction and maintenance; and
5. Experience in an R&D/Manufacturing company preferred.
