Essential Qualifications :
(i) A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the seven point scale and with a consistently good academic record, and having a minimum of 15 (fifteen) years teaching and administrative experience. The requisite teaching and administrative experience shall include (a) at least five years of service against a post of Associate Professor or above , (b) at least 5 (five) years of teaching at the post-graduate level, (c) at least 3 (three) years experience in educational administration. Or
A Master’s degree with at least 55% marks or its equivalent grade of B in the seven point scale and with a consistently good academic record having at least 15 years experience of teaching and educational administration, out of which a minimum of eight years should be in educational administration.
(ii) A Ph.D. degree

Essential Qualifications :
i) A Master’s Degree in Library Science / Information Science / Documentation Science or an equivalent professional degree with uniformly good academic (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed). A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Differently-abled (Physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment.
ii) Qualifying in the national level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC or any other agency approved by the UGC. However, candidates, who are, or have been awarded Ph. D. degree in accordance with the “University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET.
iii) Good knowledge of computerization of library.
