Age Limit: Maximum 28 years as on 1st January 2014

Qualification:
i) A degree in Mechanical Engineering /Mechanical & Automation Engineering from AICTE Approved Engineering college. Equivalent degree or degree with specialization or electives other than above educational qualification is not acceptable. Final year / semester students who have appeared in the exam and expect their results by 31.07.2013 are also eligible to apply.
ii) Candidates must be in possession of a valid degree in Engineering certificate with minimum 50% marks in final year of Engineering with a good academic record throughout the degree curriculum and should have secured at least 50% marks in English language at XIIth class.

Selection Procedure: Eligible candidates will be required to appear in the All India written Test at their own expenses and only candidates qualifying in the written test will be called for Personal Interview in the ratio of 1:3 (3 candidates called against 1 vacancy) keeping the provision of reservation for SC/ST/OBC & OBC Minority in view. The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. reserves the right to shortlist the candidates for written test also.

Test Centre: The written test will be held at Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Chennai only.

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd. a Navaratna PSU invites application FROM INDIVIDUALS OR COMPANY for appointing two pilots for 8 months(non SW monsoon) in a year 2013-14, 2014-15. Or on “call out” basis for about 20 Ship calls in a year for the LNG Terminal at Dabhol.

Terms of appointment :
(a) Contract employment for 8 months of the year in 2013-14 and 2014-15, with payment on per month basis. or
(b) On “call out” basis for a period of approx. eight months w.e.f. 15th Sept, 2013 till on set of monsoon on 15/5 in 2013-14 and 2014-15 for about 20 ship calls in each year with payment on per call basis.

Qualifications :
1) Holding COC of Master (FG) issued by D.G. Shipping, Govt. of India or equivalent Certificate(inc Service certificate) recognized by Govt. of India.
2) Unlimited tonnage/draft Pilot license or equivalent document from any Port for tankers/large vessels.
3) Experience of Piloting LNG Tankers would be preferred.

Experience : Candidates with about 3 Years of Pilotage experience in a port having piloted tankers of atleast 80,000 MT DWT.

Selection Process : Interested candidates may please forward the details. They may be called for Interview at Mumbai. No traveling allowance will be payable to candidate called for interview. The candidates have to make their own arrangements for stay in Mumbai. The selection can also be conducted based on submitted documents and telephonic interview. However SCI retains its right to require suitable candidate to appear for personal interview.
