Job Description
Purpose of the Job: Participation in preparation of research & executing technical studies for the development of Thermal desalination process.
Prerequisites of the Job: Knowledge & implementation of systems & the rules of safety & security. Implementation of systems and work procedures of SWCC.
Responsibilities: 1. Participate in the preparation of research projects and carrying out technical studies for the development of thermal desalination processes.
2. Participate in collaboration with the Plants to formulate the remedies that may assist in increasing the plant efficiency and the production.
3. Refer to the environmental changes and recommend the types if changes that are possible in the routine operation of desalination units on the coast in order to avoid the negative impact of such environmental changes.
4. Interact with desalination engineers at Plants to follow up the technical affairs that are related to their respective Plants and are forwarded to SWDRI and recommend some solutions and suggestions.
5. Study Plants’ reports and comments upon them, in case it is essential.
6. Propose and contribute with Plants in the experiments of dose rate optimization of some chemicals and analyze the results,
7. Prepare procurement requests for the equipments especially for the laboratory of thermal desalination processes.
8. Follow-up latest researches and technical developments concerning the modes and methods of desalination and propose its utilization in operating Plants or design of new Plants, if possible.
9. Prepare new projects or research tasks in the light of latest researches.
10. Participate in the studies and review different research works for the exactness of objectives and the extent / scope of its requirements.
11. Participate in the training of research cadre of the Department.

Desired Candidate Profile
Masters Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
Job Experience: Similar experience in the relevant field.
Expertise & Capabilities: Proficiency in English language, ability to operate computer and evaluate research tasks, thorough knowledge of the systems of Pilot Plants’ operation & maintenance, skills to technically analyze and give technical comments in his filed, ability to prepare research projects and compile technical reports according to the recognized scientific guidelines and capability to planning and coordination.
