TAMIL NADU COMMON ENTRANCE TEST (TANCET) 2013
FOR M.B.A., M.C.A. & M.E. / M.Tech. / M.Arch. / M.Plan. DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Applications are invited for Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET) 2013 to be conducted by Anna University, Chennai on behalf of the Government of Tamilnadu from candidates who seek admission to 1. M.B.A., 2. M.C.A. and 3. M.E./M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan. Degree Programmes for the year 2013 – 2014 offered at University Departments, University Colleges of Engineering, Regional Centres of Anna University, Government and Government Aided Engineering Colleges and Arts & Science Colleges and Self-financing Colleges (Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges including standalone Institutions) in Tamilnadu. Some Universities and Self–Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the candidates on the basis of marks obtained in TANCET 2013.

Other State candidates can appear for the entrance test, but the eligibility conditions will be fixed by the admitting authority / University.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR MBA :
A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration and obtained atleast 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examination.
(i) 10 + 2 years H.Sc. + 3 years bachelor’s degree pattern (or)
(ii) 10 + 3 years Diploma + 3 years bachelor’s degree pattern (or)
(iii) B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch./B.Pharm. (or)
(iv) Candidates with section ‘A’ & ‘B’ certificates and other similar certificate of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India are considered to be equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. Degree holders only with 2 Years regular full time Teaching experience / Industrial experience* in the relevant field after successful completion of the course including project work.
An experience certificate is to be produced by the candidates with AMIE Qualification.
a) 10 + 2 years H.Sc. + AMIE (with 2 years experience) (or)
b) 10 + 3 Years diploma (awarded by the State Board of Technical Education) + AMIE (with 2 years experience)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR MCA :
A pass in a recognised Bachelor’s degree of minimum 3 years duration with mathematics at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained atleast 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examinations.
(i) 10 + 2 years H.Sc. + 3/4 Years bachelor’s degree Pattern (or)
(ii) 10 + 3 Years diploma + 3 Years bachelor’s degree Pattern (or)
(iii) Candidates with section ‘A’ & ‘B’ certificates and other similar certificate of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India are considered to be equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. Degree holders only with 2 Years regular full time Teaching experience / Industrial experience* in the relevant field after successful completion of the course including project work.

(i) B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. degree programme. (or)
(ii) B.Pharm. / B.Sc (Agri. / Forestry / Horticulture / Fishery) degree programme. (or)
(iii) Master’s Degree in the relevant branch of Science / Arts, which are prescribed. (or)
(iv) M.Sc. (5 Years) Integrated Degree Programme. (or)
(v) B.Sc. 3 Years (Computer Science / Information Technology) and M.Sc. 2 Years (Computer Science / Information Technology)
(vi) MCA (3 Years) after 10+2 years H.Sc. + 3 Years bachelor’s degree.
(vii) MCA# Lateral Entry (2 Years) after 10+2 years H.Sc. + 3 Years bachelor’s degree in BCA or B.Sc. (Information Technology / Computer Science)
b. Candidates with section ‘A’ & ‘B’ certificates and other similar certificate of professional bodies or societies (e.g. A.M.I.E.) recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India are considered to be equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. (Information Technology / Computer Science) with mathematics as a course at 10+2 level or at Graduate level and obtained atleast 50 % (45 % in the case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying degree examinations.
(i) 10+2 years + 3 years bachelor’s degree Pattern

Application Fee : ` 500/- (` 250/- for SC/SCA/ST candidates)
Drawn in favour of ‘The Director, Entrance Examinations, Anna University,’ payable at Chennai, obtained from any Nationalised bank on or after 01.02.2013.

How to Apply :
(1) REGISTRATION IN PERSON :
Hall Tickets will be issued to the candidates who come in person to the prescribed Co-ordinating Centres with a copy of 10th Std. mark sheet and 12th Std. mark sheet (or 3 years Diploma Certificate) and cash or Demand Draft * (A single Demand Draft is sufficient for one or more programme) for the required amount towards entrance test fee.

(2) REGISTRATION THROUGH INTERNET :
The candidates can also register through internet by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tancet2013. The filled-in downloaded application along with the required demand draft* and photocopies of certificates should be sent so as to reach
