NISER invites applications from the eligible citizens of India for the following positions to be filled by Direct Recruitment on regular basis.

1. Name of the Post : Scientific Officer ‘E’
No. of Vacancies : 01 (UR)
Age : Not more than 40 years as on 28.02.2013
Pay Band –3 : Rs. 15600 - 39100 Grade Pay: 7600/- Initial Basic Pay: 29,500/-
Essential Qualifications :
a) Ph D in Physics especially in the area of experimental high energy heavy-ion collisions with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade both at graduation and post graduation level.
b) Minimum of 4 years of specialized post doctoral / working experience in the area of experimental high energy heavy-ion collisions in a laboratory of national repute, OR exceptionally brilliant candidates having two years of specialized post doctoral / working experience in the area of experimental high energy heavy-ion collisions at international facility like BNL or CERN.

2.Name of the Post : Scientific Officer ‘D’
No. of Vacancies : 01 (UR)
Age : Not more than 35 years as on 28.02.2013
Pay Band –3 : Rs. 15600 - 39100 Grade Pay: 6600/- Initial Basic Pay: 25350/-
Essential Qualifications :
a) M.Sc in Physics with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade both at graduation and post graduation level, OR M.Tech in Electronics/Electrical/Mechanical branch (after B.Tech or M.Sc) with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade both at graduation and post graduation level.
b) Minimum of 4 years of post qualification experience in the specialized areas of detector developments (gas or silicon based) that are used in high or low energy nuclear/particle physics experiments.
Desirable Qualification : Candidates having PhD degree or Postdoctoral experience in the field of detector development will be given preference.
