Job Description
Position: Oracle Apps DBA

Job Location: Hyderabad

Required Skills:

Installation, Upgrades, and Support

Perform and support multiple installations and upgrades in single-node and multi-node environments, including dev, test, and production on a variety of platforms/operating systems

Experience with more than one major release. i.e. 11.0.3 and 11.5.10, or preferably 11.5.x and 12.0.x

Experience with specific technology stack components such as AS10g/9iAS, Web/OHS, Portal, SSO, Forms, Reports, Discoverer

Knowledge of developer products such as Workflow Builder, Discoverer, Forms, Reports, BI Publisher

Experience with client components such as Jinitiator, Sun Java, Application Desktop Integrator (ADI/GLDI), Discoverer

Perform migrations from one operating system to another

Implement, integrate and migrate E-Business customizations

Work with Infrastructure team members (Network, NT and Unix Administrators) to build and deliver services in a stable and secure multi-instance hosting environment

Assist with capacity planning, disaster recovery and load balancing activities in the hosting environment.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

Perform clones using RapidClone and other pre-RapidClone methods including database refreshes

In depth experience with application patching using autopatch/OAM/patch history database, and with AD Utilities used to control and maintain the Application including autoconfig

Knowledge and experience with technology stacks and patching including RDBMS, Web, Forms, Reports

Extensive work with concurrent managers including scheduled jobs, monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting

Knowledge of the E-Business Suite licensing

Perform backup and recovery of the E-Business Suite and all components

Manage and troubleshoot E-Business Suite security and performance


System Administration

Assist with User/Role/Responsibility Administration

Perform user auditing using OAM and E-Business forms and reports

Knowledge of Application flexfields- key and descriptive

Knowledge of Oracle Alerts, creation, maintenance and troubleshooting

Experience developing customizations directly in the E-Business Suite

Experience with RAC, Standby database, Dataguard and E-Business failover/recovery

Knowledge and experience with load balancing – Forms, Reports, JServ, RDBMS

Leadership Skills:

Required Oracle DBA Skills:


Develop, implement, and maintain processes and procedures for database administration on production servers and non-production servers
Develop scripts to perform routine database administration tasks
Develop scripts and methods to monitor production databases
Manage backup and recovery of production databases
Manage database and application software upgrades as they affect production databases
In depth experience performing database tuning and performance analysis
Oracle Database certification is a plus
OEM installation, configuration, and maintenance experience is a plus
