United insurance company is a leading General Insurance policy including public and private sector. And also it provides insurance for vehicles, health insurance etc. This project was started to act as a central data warehouse, which is used to extract data from different Source database it is a combination of flat-files and Oracle tables and the target database is Oracle.

Responsibilities :
- Worked on all Informatica Power Center tools - Source Analyzer, Warehouse Designer, Mapping Designer and Workflow Manager.
- Worked extensively on Informatica Power Center 8.1
- Used Informatica for extraction from legacy and oracle based sources.
- Used various transformations like Source Qualifier, Lookup, Router, Filter, Update Strategy, Expression, Aggregator, Sorter, Sequence Generator etc
- Used unconnected lookup where different expressions used the same lookup and had multiple targets, which use same logic executed and return one value.

Mts is a net provided service; it is wireless internet service and also a variety of services including domestic telecom, wireless, broadband and other information services. The primary objective of this project was to provide a central repository of the customer information, service usages, billing information, and account details of subscribers. Source data's are extracted from Flat files, excel and moved into Oracle. Informatica Power Center 8.6 is used for ETL process with various mappings, mapplets & transformations.

Responsibilities :
- Analyzed data flow requirements and developed a scale able architecture for staging and loading data and Translated business rules and functionality requirements into ETL procedures.
- Involved in design of database modeling using 3NF, designed Fact and Dimension tables using Erwin.
- Created Mappings using Mapping Designer to load the data from various sources, transform data according to business rules and load to a oracle RDBMS target.
- Created complex Informatica mappings to load the data. The mappings involved extensive use of transformations like Aggregator, Filter, Router, Expression, Look up, Sequence generator.
- Used Lookup Transformation to access data from tables, which are not the source for mapping and also used Unconnected Lookup to improve performance.
- Configured the mappings to handle the updates to preserve the existing records using Update Strategy Transformation.
- Created unique primary key values to replace missing primary keys using Sequence Generator Transformation making reusable to use the same Sequence Generator in multiple mappings.
- Defined Target Load Order Plan and Constraint based loading for loading data correctly into different Target Tables.
- Implemented performance tuning by using lookup caches, using tables with fewer rows as the master table in joiner transformations, dropped indexes and re-created them after loading data to targets and increased the commit interval.
- Performed incremental aggregation, built slowly changing dimensions using lookup and update strategy transformations, used mapping parameters and variables as well as re-usable transformations.
- Worked with mappings involving Slowly Changing Dimensions.
- Carried out unit and integration testing for Informatica mappings, sessions and workflows.
