    KEAM 2013 Submission Starts on 14 th January 2013.

    Prospectus for Admission to Professional Degree Courses 2013, which has been approved by the Govt. of Kerala, is published herewith. It contains general information and rules relating to the Entrance Examinations for Admission to Professional Degree Courses 2013, rules relating to allotment/admission to MBBS/BDS Courses-2013 and other connected matters. Candidates are required to go through the Prospectus carefully and acquaint themselves with all the relevant information relating to the examinations/allotments.

    Academic Eligibility :
    Medical & Allied Courses :
    (i) For MBBS/BDS Courses, the criteria of eligibility [Academic/NEET(UG)-2013] will be as notified by the CBSE for NEET(UG)-2013/Medical Council of India (MCI) from time to time.

    (ii) For admission to other Medical Courses (BAMS, BSMS, BHMS) : Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible. In the absence of Biology, Biotechnology will be considered for the courses BAMS and BSMS.

    (iii) For admission to B.Sc.Hon(Agri), B.Sc.Hon(Forestry), BFSc courses : Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary examination of the Board of Higher Secondary Education, Kerala, or examinations recognised equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology put together, are eligible.

    (b) For admission to BVSc. & AH Course, candidates should have secured not less than 50% aggregate marks in English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology for the qualifying examination, in addition to the condition as stipulated in clause 6.2.1(a(ii)) as per regulation 5 of Minimum standards of Veterinary Education Degree Course (BVSc & AH) Regulation, 1993.

    Engineering courses :
    [Including B.Tech (Ag. Engg.) and B.Tech (Food Engg.) courses under the Kerala Agricultural University and B. Tech (Dairy Sc. &Technology) under Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University].

    Architecture course :
    Minimum academic eligibility for admission to B. Arch. :
    10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised Board with Mathematics as a subject of study by securing 50% marks in aggregate. OR
    10+3 Diploma (any stream) recognised by Central/State Governments with 50% aggregate marks. OR
    International Baccalaureate Diploma, after 10 years of schooling, with not less than 50% marks in aggregate and with Mathematics as compulsory subject of examination.

    AGE : Applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2013. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit for KEAM – 2013

    Application Fee :
    A candidate who does not belong to SC/ST communities will be treated as ‘General’ candidate for the collection of application fee. The application fee for all candidates will be as follows :
    General : Rs.700/-
    SC / ST : Rs.350/-

    :
    The following are some of the reason(s) that may lead to rejection of your Application.
    ** If the photograph of the applicant affixed in the printout of Application and the photograph uploaded in Online is different OR not follow the guideline given in the ‘Photo guideline’
    ** If the photograph affixed in the printout of Application is not duly attested by the Head of the Institution which he/she studied last or by a Gazetted Officer.
    ** If Applicant and Parent have not signed in the specified areas on the printout of the Application.
    ** If duly filled and signed Course Certificate/Mark list and Nativity Certificate in the prescribed format are not attached along with the printout of the application.
    ** If the particular Application Fee meant for each category is not paid.
    ** If printout of application (use the ‘Print Application’ link) and supported documents reach after the last date specified.

    What are the procedures for applying online?

    First visit the website http://www.cee.kerala.gov.in and register.

    Note down the Application Number and remember the password.

    Login and give the details in the application carefully. Intermittently save the details which you have entered by clicking the 'Save' button. Fields marked in '*' are mandatory.

    After filling up all the required fields, make the final submission by clicking the 'Final Submission' button.

    Next enter the payment details, ie. whether by Security Card or by Demand Draft.

    After this, take printout of the application.

    Affix a passport size (3.5 x 3.5 cm) photograph (this should be the copy of uploaded photo), get it attested by a Gazetted Officer or the Head of the Institution where the candidate has last studied. The applicant and the parent should sign in the specified areas on the printout of the Application.

    Get Course Certificate and Nativity Certificate in the prescribed format available in the body of the print out of the application.

    If the candidate claims any reservation, then use relevant format(s) of the certificate(s) and get it certified from the concerned authorities.

    Send all these documents to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, 5th Floor, Housing Board Buildings, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram - 695 001 so as to reach the office on or before 09th Feb 2013,5 PM.

    How can I pay the Application Fee?

    Application fee can be paid in either of the two ways viz. a) by Security Card which can be purchased from selected Post Offices; or b) by way of Demand Draft (DD) drawn on a Nationalised/Scheduled Bank, in favour of the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, payable at Thiruvananthapuram. These details have to be entered in the Payment section of the online application.

    I am not able to upload the photo. What to do?

    Photo to be uploaded should have the specified dimensions and size. Refer the ‘Photo guideline’ provided in the application portal

    For applying online, the candidates must have scanned/digital image of his/her photograph.
    The Specification of photograph image should be as follows:
    1. Size of the photograph should be passport size
    2. Photograph must be in colour with a light colour background, white is preferable.
    3. The face of the candidate should be straight and clear.
    4. Photo wearing caps and dark glasses will be rejected.
    5. Scanned image file should be in jpg (jpeg) format only.
    6. Dimensions of the photograph 150 pixels width and 200 pixels height.
    7. Size of the image file should be between 15 kb and 30 kb.
    8. Candidate’s name and date of birth should be printed at the bottom of the photograph with black letter and white background.

    Procedure for Uploading the Photograph :
    The facility of Uploading your photo is available during the first time login. Click on ‘Browse’ or ’Choose File’ and Select the location where the scanned photograph file has been saved. Select the file by clicking on it and then click the 'Upload’ button. If the photo is within the above mentioned specification, the selected photograph will be uploaded.

    Remember:
    1. A printed copy of uploaded photo should be affixed on the specified place in the printout of the application and get it duly attested by a gazetted officer.
    2. If the face in the photograph is unclear, your application will be rejected.
    3. The uploaded photo and affixed photo on the printout of application should be identical.

    No.

    I belong to General category. Is it required to submit Income certificate?

    It is better to submit income certificate by all candidates except SC/ST. Those (including General Category) who wish to avail the benefits such as fee concession/scholarships that may be notified by the Government or college authorities subsequently, based on annual family income, should furnish the Income Certificate along with the application itself. No further chance will be allowed to submit Income Certificate.

    My application number is 1118146. How can I check my application status?

    There is an Application Status bar in the home page of on line application. ‘Received at CEE’ status will become in green color tick mark, when the application received by the CEE office. It will be updated only when the application will be taken for scrutinizing and not at the time of receiving. Moreover, a message will be sent to your mobile phone regarding receiving status.

    Will Admit card be sent to me by post?

    No. Admit cards will not be sent by post from this office to the candidate. The Admit cards have to be downloaded by the candidate.

    Where will KEAM examination be held?


    Entrance Examinations will be conducted at the following centres only. Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod, New Delhi and Dubai.
