    Aliah University, established by the Govt. of West Bengal through Aliah University Act (XXVII, 2007) of the West Bengal Legislature and declared as a Minority Institution and approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), invites application for admission to the following programmes for the academic session 2013-14 through Aliah University Admission Test (AUAT)–2013.

    Group A :
    A1. 4-year B. Tech. in Civil Engineering (CEN),
    A2. 4-year B. Tech. in Computer Science & Engineering (CSE),
    A3. 4-year B. Tech. in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE),
    A4. 4-year B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering (EEN),
    A5. 4-year B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering (MEN),
    A6. 5-year integrated Master of Computer Applications (MCA),
    A7. 5-year integrated M.Sc. in Chemistry (with specialization in Medicinal Chemistry and Organic Chemistry),
    A8. 5-year integrated M.Sc. in Computer Science,
    A9. 5-year integrated M.Sc. in Mathematics & Computing,
    A10. 5-year integrated M.Sc. in Physics (with specialization in Engineering Physics),
    A11. 5-year integrated M.Sc. in Statistics & Informatics.
    ELIGIBILITY : For Group-A, candidates who have passed, or will appear in 2013 in the final examination of the 10+2 pattern with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry with at least 100 Marks in each may apply, but shall not be eligible for admission unless they secure an aggregate of 45% marks or equivalent grade with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry as elective subjects.

    Group B :
    B1. 5-year integrated M.A. in English,
    B2. 5-year integrated Master of Business Administration (MBA),
    B3. 5-year integrated M.Sc. in Geography,
    ELIGIBILITY :
    i) For Group-B (except MBA), : candidates who have passed, or will appear in 2013 in the final examination of the 10+2 pattern may apply, but shall not be eligible for admission unless they secure 45% marks or equivalent grade in English and Geography and an aggregate of 45% marks or equivalent grade in 10+2 pattern.

    ii) Candidates applying for MBA of Group B : must secure at least 45% marks in English and also in aggregate or equivalent grade of 10+2 pattern in any discipline.

    Group C :
    C1. 2-year M.A. in English,
    C2. 2-year M.A. in Bengali,
    C3. 2-year M.A. in History,
    C4. 2-year M.A. in Arabic
    C5. 2-year M.Sc. in Mathematics,
    C6. 2-year M.A./M.Sc. in Geography,
    C7. 2-year M.A./M.Sc. in Journalism and Mass Communication (MJMC).
    ELIGIBILITY :
    i) For Group-C (except MJMC), : candidates who have passed the final examination of the three-year Degree programme with 45% marks in the concerned Honours/Major subject from any UGC recognized University may apply.

    ii) Candidates applying for 2-year MJMC : for Group C should have passed/expected to pass the final examination of the three-year Degree programme with 45% marks in any Honours/Major subject from any UGC recognized University. (Preference will be given to the candidates who graduated with Honours/Major in Journalism & Mass Communication securing at least 45% in the subject.)

    iii) For any other subject of Group C : candidates who are in the final year of three-year Degree programme and have passed Part I and Part II examinations by 2012 with at least 45% marks (or equivalent grade up to the 5th semester) in respective Honours/Major subjects from any UGC recognized University are also eligible to appear for AUAT 2013. However, their admission will be cancelled if they fail to secure an aggregate of 45% marks in the final result of the qualifying examination. They have to produce the final results at the time of admission.

    Maximum age limit as on 01.01.2013 :
    Group A and Group B : 22 years
    Group C : 25 years

    How to Apply :
    Application Kits (including Information Brochure) will be available from the university office at
    DN-41, Sector- V, Salt Lake City,
    Kolkata-700 091,

    from 10.01.2013 to 28.02.2013 during 11.00 a.m. to 04.00 p.m. on all working days and from the following branches of State Bank of India (SBI) from 10.01.2013 to 21.02.2013 on payment of Rs.400/- in cash.

    Please send me the question pattern for AUAT 2013.

    PATTERN OF AUAT-2013 :
    There will be two papers for all the Groups A, B, and C.
    ** Paper-I will be of one hour duration on English, Islamic Studies, and General Knowledge (in the ratio of approximately 2:1:1).
    ** Paper-II for Group A will be of three hours’ duration on Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry (in the ratio of approximately 2:1:1).
    ** Paper-II for Group B (except MBA) will be of three hours’ duration on the concerned subject.
    ** Paper-II for MBA will be of three hours’ duration on basic Mathematics, verbal and non-verbal reasoning, Commercial Arithmetic and elementary knowledge in concerned area.
    ** Paper-II for Group C (except MJMC) will be of three hours’ duration on the concerned subject.
    ** Paper-II Group C for MJMC will be of three hours’ duration on English (concept of Language and Literature), Fundamentals of Journalism & Mass Communication having its role as fourth pillar of Indian Democracy, Sports and Cinema.

    NB: Questions in all papers (except Paper II of Group C) will be of objective type in multiple choice questions (MCQ) format, which are to be answered on a specially designed machine-gradable sheet (ORS- Optical Response Sheet) using Black ball point pen only. Paper II of Group C on all subjects will be short and brief answer type and is to be answered in the space to be provided in the question booklet itself.

    Where can I get the application form?

    Submission of downloaded Application Form for Admission to Aliah University for the session 2013-14 :
    Foreign Students including NRIs may apply for admission to different courses of Groups A, B, and C through the Foreign Quota by downloading the Application Form which is given below. They will have to send their downloaded Application Form duly filled in along with application fee of 20 USD through Demand Draft in favour of “Registrar, Aliah University” payable at Kolkata, India to the following address: Chairman, AUAT office, DN-41, Salt Lake City, Sector-V, Kolkata – 700 091, India on or before the last date of submission i.e. 01.03.2013. Foreign Students including NRIs are exempted from AUAT-2013. However, those who have qualified in SAT will be given preference.

    Indian nationals residing in India may also apply for admission in different courses for Groups A, B, and C by downloading the Application Form which is given below. They will have to send their downloaded Application Form duly filled in along with the application fee of Rs. 400/- through Demand Draft in favour of “Registrar, Aliah University” payable at Kolkata, to the following address: Chairman, AUAT office, DN-41, Salt Lake City, Sector-V, Kolkata – 700 091 on or before the last date of submission i.e. 01.03.2013. They will have to appear at AUAT-2013 to be held on 12.05.2013 (Sunday).

    As I am a Science student.But i want to read Geography/ English. Can I read to Geography for B.A. I am also fill up Group A and Group B form.For Admission Test 2013. Please Inform Group 'B' syllabus.

    Paper-I for Group A, B, and C:
    ** English: Basic knowledge of vocabularies, grammar, and comprehension, at 10+2 level;
    ** General knowledge: This will comprise of History (Medieval and Modern India), Geography, Political Science, General Science and Current Affairs;
    ** Islamic Studies: Basic knowledge in Islamic History, Civilization, and Culture.

    Paper-II for Group B in English and Geography (except MBA):
    As per the syllabi of Classes XI and XII of West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

    Paper-II for Group B in MBA:
    Concept of English in language and literature, Basic and Business Mathematics, Elements of Statistics and Elementary Knowledge in the concerned area.
