Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Plan and execute routine maintenance activities and trouble shooting associated with mechanical equipment in plant.
2. Implement preventive maintenance program for all mechanical equipment.
3. Plan and execute major overhauls on gas turbines, steam turbines, boilers and desalination plant.
4. Prepare maintenance procedures for plant equipment repair activities (routine /capital maintenance).
5. Ensure efficient and safe working of all mechanical equipment in the plant.
6. Analyze condition monitoring reports and implement necessary changes to improve reliability/availability of the plant equipment.
7. Supervise day-to-day maintenance activities.
8. Assess the performance of subordinates and help in their training and development.
9. Assist in the preparation of section budget.
10. Prepare technical reports as necessary.
11. Ensure adherence with all health, safety and environmental regulations

Person Specification

1. B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institute.
2. Minimum of 5-8 years in maintenance of Gas turbines, Steam Turbines, Boilers, Desalination plant and other plant auxiliaries.

a. Knowledge of statutory requirements related to boilers and other pressure parts
b. Knowledge of basic metallurgy
c. Knowledge of welding, selection of material, procedures etc
d. Vibration analysis
e. Condition monitoring
f. Outage management
g. Maintenance management system
h. Failure analysis including use of NDT procedures
i. Establishing corrective action

3. Experience on Alstom 13 E2 Turbines will be an added advantage
4. Well versed in working with CMMS preferably Maximo
5. Recent hands-on experience of C-inspections
6. Self-motivated and willing to work within a multicultural workforce

General requirements

- Knowledge of English reading, writing and speaking is essential for the position.
- Capable of writing maintenance reports.
- Computer skills to perform tasks in MS office environment and to use plant specific packages.
