    IMPORTANT NOTICE TO OCI CARD HOLDERS
    OCI card holders traveling to India are advised to carry the Passport containing U Visa sticker and OCI Card to avoid problems at Immigration check points in India. In case registered OCI has obtained a new passport, kindly ensure to carry the passport containing U Visa sticker, new passport and OCI document during all visits to India. ALTERNATIVELY Miscellaneous Services can be availed for transfer of U Visa sticker to new passport. However, before applying for Misc Services kindly read the instructions posted under “OCI Misc Service” particularly the processing period. Since applications are processed in the order of their receipt in the Consulate, this service cannot be expedited.

    Eligibility criteria :
    A foreign national, who was eligible to become citizen of India on 26.01.1950 or was a citizen of India on or at anytime after 26.01.1950 or belonged to a territory that became part of India after 15.08.1947 and his/her children and grand children, is eligible for registration as an Overseas Citizen of India (OCI). Minor children of such persons are also eligible for OCI. However, if the applicant had ever been a citizen of
    Pakistan or Bangladesh, he/she will not be eligible for OCI.

    Application Form and Procedure :
    A family consisting of spouses and upto two minor children can Apply in the same Form i.e. Form XIX. This form can be filed online only and downloaded from our website mha.nic.in. Part B can be downloaded and filled by hand in block letters.

    The following documents must be enclosed in each application :
    1. Proof of present citizenship. In case application is filled in India, a copy of valid visa/Residential permit for a minimum valid period of three months should also be enclosed.

    2. Evidence of self or parents or grand parents,
    (a) Being eligible to become a citizen of India at the time of commencement of the Constitution; or
    (b) Belonging to a territory that became part of India after 15 th August, 1947; or
    (c) Being citizen of India on or after 26 th January, 1950 These could be :
    (i) Copy of the Indian passport :or
    (ii) Copy of the domicile certificate issued by the Competent authority ;or
    (iii) Any other proof .

    3. Evidence of relationship as parent/grand parent, if their Indian origin is claimed as basis for grant of OCI.

    4. Application fee by way of a Demand Draft (US $ 275 for each applicant or equivalent in local currency; US $ 25 or equivalent in local currency for each PIO card holder). In case of minor PIO card holder a fee of US $145 or equivalent in local currency to be paid. In case application is filled in India, fee of Rs.15,000/- to be paid by Demand Draft and PIO card holders Rs.1,400/- in same manner. In case of minor PIO card holder an amount Rs.8000/- to be paid instead Rs.1400/-.

    5. PIO card holder should submit a copy of his/her PIO card. The application form, completed in all respects, along with enclosures should be submitted in duplicate to the Indian Mission/Post of the country of applicant’s citizenship or where he/she is not in the country of citizenship, to the Indian Mission/Post of the country in which he/she is ordinarily a resident. If the applicant is in India, he/she can apply to the Foreigners Regional Registration Officer (FRRO) at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkota or Amritsar & FRRO Chennai or to the Under Secretary, OCI Cell, Citizenship Section, Foreigners Division, Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), NDCC-II Building, Jai Singh Road,OFF Parliament Street, New Delhi-110001.

    Note the following:
    1. Part-A is to be filled-in online
    2. Part-B can be downloaded after online submission and confirmation of filled-in Part 'A' of the form.
    3. Part-B can be hand-written in legible capital letters or typed.
    4. Documents to be enclosed alongwith application are given at the end of Part-B. You may use additional sheet(s) if space provided is not sufficient.
    5. Completed application in Part-A and Part-B are to be submitted to the appropriate office.

    Yes, if either of the parents is eligible for OCI.

    I got my new renewal USA passport. My lifetime indian visa was in old USA passport
    Now I need to enter my life time Indian visa in new USA PASSPORT
    What I have to do? I already registered my application on line but I don't have any information about fees & what documents I have to send to sanfransisco
