RECRUITMENT AGAINST SCOUTS AND GUIDES QUOTA FOR T HE YEAR 2012-2013.

Applications, on plain paper (A4 size) in the given format should be neatly typed or hand written either in English or Hindi are invited from the eligible scouts & guides candidates for fi lling up the vacancies against Scouts & Guides Quota of Eastern R ailway for the year 2012-13.

1.Name of the post : Category -1 Group 'C'
Grade (RSRP) : Rs.5200- 20200/-(RSRP-08)+ GP Rs.1900/- or Rs.2000 in PB - I

Age limit (Age as no. 01. 07. 2013) : 18 to 30 Yrs
Minimum Educational Qualification :
(i)For Non-Technical Popular Categories(NTPC) : Matriculation or Equivalent with 50% marks in aggregate. (Not applicable for SC/ST candidates and for the candidates of any category possessing higher qualification)
(ii) For Technician Categories : Act Apprenticeship/ITI. No other qualification including Diploma in Engineering /BE will be accepted as an alternative qualification. Act Apprenticeship/ITI certificate must be approved by SCVT / NCVT.

2.Name of the post : Category - 2 Group 'D' (Erstwhile) (Khalasi, Porter, Trackman etc.)
Grade (RSRP) : Rs.5200/- 20200/- with GP Rs.1800/- in PB - I

Minimum Educational Qualification :Passed Class-10th pass or ITI or equivalent

Examination Fees : The Examination fees of Rs. 40/- (Rupees forty only) is payable either in form of Demand Draft (DD) / Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of ‘FA&CAO, Eastern Railway Kolkata’.

Attention for e.N.No-0110 for medical examination :
Medical Examination schedules of E.No.0110 of eligible candidates whose call letters have been issued are published. Medical Examination call letters of rest of eligible candidates are under the process of dispatch. The position will keep on updated regularly.

Medical Call Letters are dispatched thorough SPEET POST only. Please follow our website www.rrcer.com. Medical Call Letters are being issued date wise as per the capacity of Eastern Railway Hospital. All eligible candidates will receive Medical Examination Call Letters in due course of time.

Candidates who have not received call letters till date are not required to visit RRC-ER’s office for any query. They are advised to visit our web site. Candidate whose Medical Examination date, time and venue has been announced in our website but not received call letter should report to the venue on nominated date and time.

Duplicate call letter / letters will be issued on same date at the venue shown in our website after producing the downloaded print out and other papers such as 1) Original copy of the bottom portion of call letter of Written Examination and PET. 2) D.O.B certificate. 3) 04 nos of recent passport size photograph

Selection Procedure :
1. The selection process is subject to rules and regulations issued / mailed by General Manager, Eastern Railway and Ministry of Railway's (Railway Board, Government of India) which includes reservation of jobs for certain castes/ communities such as Schedule caste (SC), Schedule Tribes (ST), other backward classes (OBC) etc.
2. Employment Notifications calling for applications from eligible candidates is published in News Papers of Zonal jurisdictions of Eastern Railway (comprising of Divisional Headquarters at Howrah, Sealdah, Asansol, Malda, and other workshops, extra divisional units in the territorial jurisdictions of Eastern Railway). Indicative notifications for the same is also published in the Employment news and two national dailies.
3. The time period given to apply in response to notifications is not less than 30 days. The applications received in the time period prescribed are scrutinized with reference to criteria published in the notification.
4. Schedule of Written examination is also published in News papers and employment news. Eligible candidates are informed of their date and centre of their examination by call letters
5. Centres of written examination are generally spread over entire Eastern Railway. Important Towns were examination is likely to be held are Howrah, Hooghly, 24 Pgs (North), 24 Pgs (South) and Central Kolkata. However, Eastern Railway can also tie-up with other Railways for providing centre(s) if the need so arises.
6. List of Candidates successful in the written examination is published in the newspapers, internet and successful candidates are also advised by post.
7. Successful candidates are then tested for Physical Efficiency as per criteria given in the Employment Notification, subject to modification by Ministry of Railway. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is qualifying in nature.
8. Candidates declared successful in PET are then subjected to Medical examination of relevant category.
9. Final Panel is then formed as per merit, requirement applying reservation policies.
